Copy Supervisor

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Represent the brand, our agency, and our clients in MLR meetings, all-agency meetings, workshops, etc. solo or with support. Contribute strategically to the long-term vision of the brand, both internally and with client, including Brand Planning
- Experience overseeing copywriters and helping them develop their craft
- Review all copy related to their brand(s) and provide thoughtful, clear direction to the writers
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance as a key member of the senior creative team
- Participate in new business pitches, as possible
- Work with their cross-functional capability partners to ensure we deliver excellent work, on time and on budget, and delight our clients
- Exemplify the values of imre and contribute to the overall culture of the agency
- Develop a close working partnership with Medical & Strategy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field
- 7+ years of experience in copywriting or a related role, with a focus on healthcare
- An expert in quickly learning scientific information about assigned therapeutic category and understanding the various audiences the work must speak to
- Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to write in different tones for different brands/audiences.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment to deliver effective, impactful copy that aligns strategically to the brief.
- Delivers campaign concepts that show promise
- A pro at executing the day-to-day work and taking it from kick-off to completion. Adept at helping junior writers do the same.
- Partner with strategy as needed on creative briefs and other creative strategy needs
- Able to help writers manage their time and deadlines in order to ensure work is being completed on time.
- Serves as owner of the brand voice for the internal team and clients; an expert on the product and therapeutic area.
- Comfortable owning the copy discussion in MLR meetings, representing the creative choices that have been made, and wordsmithing on the fly.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates experience & leadership in healthcare.
- Ability to manage other writers and help them develop in their craft
- Proficient in the referencing/annotating process & can teach others/supervise.
