Director of Field Service – Maintenance and Repair
The Opportunity
InCharge Energy is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Field Service – Maintenance and Repair to lead and manage a team of Field Service Technicians, ensuring efficient service delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This role is vital to the success of our service operations and requires a balance of hands-on fieldwork, team management, and strategic leadership. The Director of Field Service – Maintenance and Repair will report directly to the Vice President of Service Operations.
What You'll Do
- Manage a team of cross-trained Field Service Technicians who install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in diverse environments
- Assure a safe working environment by conducting monthly safety meetings, site safety audits, and ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Maximize field service productivity, control costs, manage overtime, and exceed gross margin targets
- Oversee field operations to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and the efficient implementation of US Service Operations expectations
- Spend 10% of time in the field supporting technicians, customers, vendors, and sales personnel
- Collaborate with Scheduling, Supply Chain, Network Operations, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Mentor and develop team members to support career growth and achieve operational goals
- Ensure compliance with administrative processes, field reporting requirements, and company policies
- Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness
- Participate in the development and coordination of training and qualification plans tailored to the needs of strategic customers
- Support the deployment of tools and resources to enable sales and enhance customer service capabilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Your Experience and Capabilities
- 5+ years of experience in field service or customer engagement, with at least 2 years in a team lead or management role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a confident management style
- Valid driver’s license with a clear motor vehicle record
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, drug testing, and customer-specific screening requirements
- Proven experience working with customers in a service-oriented environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Experience
- Experience with electrical services for commercial, industrial, or residential properties
- Familiarity with EV chargers or renewable energy solutions
- Background in implementing and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and electrical standards
