Electrical Trainee
The Opportunity
InCharge Energy is seeking an Electrical Trainee to support the service and installation needs of our customers. This role is based out of our Bellflower, CA office and reports to the Service Manager. Please note that this role will require relocation upon completion of training—see Training and Travel Requirements below for additional details.
The Electrical Trainee works alongside licensed electricians and experienced technicians on commercial electrical and EV infrastructure projects, building foundational field skills while completing required classroom instruction. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their electrical careers who are registered trainees and working toward apprenticeship or journeyman pathways. The position involves regional travel and hands-on field work supporting installations and service operations. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to high-quality, customer-focused project delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Assist electricians and technicians with basic installation tasks including pulling wire, staging materials, and preparing tools
- Support installation of conduit, cable trays, lighting fixtures, receptacles, and other commercial electrical components
- Help maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments across active job sites
- Perform simple measurements, material preparation, and basic installation tasks under supervision
- Transport tools, equipment, and materials throughout the project site as needed
- Observe and learn proper installation techniques, electrical safety procedures, and applicable electrical codes
- Participate in required electrical trainee coursework and maintain active trainee registration
- Document work hours and training progress in accordance with state requirements
- Represent InCharge Energy professionally at customer locations and project sites
Your Experience and Capabilities
- High school diploma or GED
- Active electrical trainee registration (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Enrolled in an approved electrical training program, or willingness to begin coursework
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn a skilled trade
- Ability to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and work in commercial construction environments
- Reliable transportation to travel to various job sites
- Ability to travel 50–75% regionally
Training and Travel Requirements
- The training program for this role is 6 months and includes both classroom learning and hands-on field experience. Throughout the program, you will build the foundational skills needed to grow within the company, with a pathway to become either an Electrical Technician or an EVCS Technician based on performance and business needs.
- All training hours accrued will count toward a Journeyman License, and the company will cover testing fees associated with certification. Upon successful completion of the program, estimated earning potential ranges from $32–$42/hour depending on experience and location.
- This role requires flexibility and mobility. Relocation is required following completion of training, and placement will be determined based on business needs and available openings at that time. Current target locations include Dallas, Phoenix, and Richmond, VA, with the possibility of remaining in Bellflower, CA depending on availability. Candidates must be open to relocation. A $5,000 relocation stipend will be provided if relocation is required.
- This role also includes regional travel during training and beyond, with an expected travel requirement of 50–75%.
- A tool allowance of $90 per pay period will be provided to support required equipment.
US Hourly Range
$26 - $28 USD
