AI Software Engineer Overview:

 

We are seeking an experienced AI Software Engineer to join our team and help lead integration of AI into our product offering.  This role will focus on building AI-powered features and enhancing our cloud-based SaaS application by integrating advanced AI models and automation capabilities. Candidates will be joining a specialized AI team working on next-generation AI-driven solutions, collaborating with other engineers and product managers to bring cutting-edge AI capabilities to the platform.

 

The ideal candidate possesses foundational knowledge of AI technologies, including, prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and experience with OpenAI (or similar) integrations. Experience developing web applications using C#.NET and React are a plus. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who wants to work at the intersection of AI and SaaS, shaping the future of AI-enhanced education technology.

 

AI Software Engineer Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Proven experience integrating generative AI into production-grade SaaS products.
  • Experience building or extending AI-first user experiences such as smart assistants, auto-complete, summarization, or contextual recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of embedding models and vector databases, and how to evaluate similarity search effectiveness in real-world applications.
  • Understanding of 3rd party AI APIs (e.g. OpenAI) and how to integrate AI services into applications.
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering, including how to craft effective prompts for AI models.
  • Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including vector search and embeddings (e.g., OpenAI, HuggingFace, Pinecone, FAISS)
  • Proficient in building and consuming RESTful APIs including experience designing backend systems that serve AI-powered features at scale
  • Understanding of data processing and manipulation techniques, including experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL). 
  • Experience with ETL pipelines and batch data processing to combine data from multiple sources and prepare data for model training.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure and requirements for running AI-enabled applications in them.
  • Strong proficiency in statically-typed programming languages such as C#, TypeScript, or similar.
  • Solid software engineering fundamentals: version control, unit testing, CI/CD, observability, performance tuning, and secure coding practices
  • Strong grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
  • Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable code.

 

AI Software Engineer Soft Skills:

  • Curious, product-minded, and collaborative. Eager to experiment, validate ideas quickly, and work closely with designers and product managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex problems and develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changes in requirements or technology stack.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in coding and testing.
