Email Marketing Specialist Overview:
As an Email Marketing Specialist at Incident IQ, you’ll be responsible for the operational excellence of our email marketing programs. You’ll manage the full email production lifecycle from coordinating campaign requirements and building segmented audiences to QA testing and performance reporting. In this cross-functional role, you’ll work closely with Marketing Managers and the Marketing Ops team to ensure emails are technically sound, brand-aligned, and sent to the right audience at the right time.
We’re seeking a meticulous, proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings a deep understanding of email tools, targeting strategies, and engagement best practices. If you’re passionate about delivering relevant, timely, and high-performing email campaigns that support the full marketing funnel, this is the role for you.
Email Marketing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end process of building and executing marketing emails across the customer lifecycle—ensuring accessibility best practices, mobile optimization, email client rendering, and on-schedule delivery.
- Partner with Campaign Managers to define email execution plans, including segmentation, suppression, frequency logic, and deployment schedules.
- Build dynamic audience segments based on behavioral and demographic criteria to power personalized outreach.
- Design and execute A/B and multivariate tests to optimize subject lines, content, CTAs, and send times. Maintain the testing framework and learning library, and scale insights across all programs.
- Maintain high standards for deliverability—QA emails across clients, manage inbox placement, list health, domain authentication, compliance, and deliverability best practices.
- Implement and manage suppression logic to avoid over-saturating contacts or under-engaging valuable segments.
- Monitor key performance metrics—including open rates, CTR, conversion rates, bounce rates, and unsubscribe trends. Report on campaign performance, engagement trends, deliverability, and testing insights to inform ongoing strategy.
- Own platform setup, templates, integrations, and user support. Act as the quality gatekeeper for all outbound marketing emails—ensuring message accuracy, list hygiene, and compliance with send protocols.
Email Marketing Specialist Requirements:
- 2–4 years experience executing and optimizing email marketing campaigns in a B2B SaaS or tech-driven environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in audience segmentation, campaign QA, and performance analysis.
- Experience editing HTML email templates and resolving cross-client rendering issues.
- Prior experience with Marketo (or Adobe Campaign) and Salesforce is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills—able to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail with an eye for design, formatting, and customer experience in the inbox.
- Customer-first mindset with an appreciation for segmentation, personalization, and relevant messaging.
- Skilled at collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and translating campaign goals into executional requirements.
- Passionate about continuous improvement and data-informed decision making.
- Proficient in HTML/CSS with a focus on email design and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Hubspot, etc.) and CRM platforms (Salesforce, etc.)
- Expertise with email testing tools (Litmus, Email on Acid, etc.)
- Familiarity with email compliance (e.g., CAN-SPAM, CCPR, GDPR) and deliverability principles.
