Human Resource Generalist

We are currently seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our team of highly qualified professionals that share our mission of Empowering Children to Conquer their World!  This role performs general Human Resource functions for all assigned sites and assists with special projects led by the Human Resources team.

What you will do:

  • Perform all applicable tasks related to hiring and onboarding processes for new team members, internal transfers, and students/volunteers for assigned sites ensuring laws and regulations are followed.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and auditing team member files.
  • Create and manage deTASO accounts for team members.
  • Assist with new hire orientation, Propel.
  • Assist with site audits as needed.
  • Monitor and complete Workflows related to pay changes, position changes, status changes, and terminations.
  • Ensure company is compliant with I-9 processing and filing.
  • Serve as an advocate for site leaders and team members for assigned sites.
  • Perform required distribution, tracking, and reporting related to performance reviews, policy acknowledgements, LMS courses, and other company documents.
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to terminations of team members for assigned sites.
  • Perform all applicable tasks related to team member name changes.
  • Monitor the HR inbox and answer emails or forward to appropriate person.
  • Create and maintain reports from HRIS system as needed. 
  • Serve as a back-up and assist other HR team members as needed. 
  • Perform complete process of human resource functions assigned, including FMLA, worker’s compensation, unemployment and any other projects that human resources is responsible for. 
  • Participate in educational opportunities related to human resources.

What you have:

  • Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of keyboarding, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and other company documents.
  • Ability to author routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of families or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Reports for work dressed appropriately and complies with company policies regarding the dress code.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Travel may be required.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred,
  • One year experience in Human Resources, preferred.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to accurately communicate information and ideas so others will understand through sight and hearing. The employee is regularly required to move including walking, running, jumping, and sitting. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, lift, reach, and feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
