Position Summary
Mechanical Drafting CAD Technician develop 3D drawings for low and medium voltage electrical distribution products using SolidWorks.
Key Responsibilities
- Full time shift (s): Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu & Fri 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Design 3D models
- Generate detail mechanical drawings for 3D part
- Work closely with design engineers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawing packages
- Apply appropriate drafting standard to parts & assembly drawings
- Assist design engineers as required, in all aspects of generating drawings
- Coordinate with design lead on assigned drawing project.
- Work independently as well as in a multi-disciple team working closely to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawing standards and reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
- Less than two years of relevant work experience
- Successful completion of CAD design programs. SolidWorks Preferred
- Strong Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Knowledge of Microsoft products
- Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical Drawing
- Generate 3D model from 2D drawing package
- Ability to perform design related math functions
- Desire to develop skills through on the job experience to advance in the design process
- Familiarity with standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Familiarity with ANSI & ASTM standards
- Ability to develop manufacturing processes and lean design/manufacturing (DFM)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills fluent in English
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $61,440 -$80,640 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
