Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Tools & System Administrator to oversee and manage our SolidWorks and Product Data Management (PDM) systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation, integration, and maintenance of these tools to support our engineering teams. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent user support and training.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration:

Manage, configure, and maintain SolidWorks and PDM systems to ensure optimal performance and usability.

Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain system integrity.

Conduct regular system audits and updates, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.

 

User Support and Training:

Provide technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to SolidWorks and PDM tools.

Develop and deliver training sessions and documentation for users to enhance their skills and understanding of the tools.

 

Collaboration and Integration:

Work closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and assist in integrating SolidWorks and PDM with other engineering applications and workflows.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve system functionalities to enhance productivity.

 

Data Management:

Oversee the management of engineering data, including version control, access permissions, and data integrity within the PDM system.

Implement best practices for data organization and retrieval to ensure quick and efficient access to critical information.

 

Continuous Improvement:

Stay current with the latest SolidWorks and PDM updates, industry trends, and best practices.

Proactively identify areas for improvement within the systems and suggest enhancements or new tools as needed.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and user guides to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.

Generate reports and metrics on system usage, performance, and user satisfaction for management review.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, specifically with SolidWorks and PDM systems.
  • Strong understanding of CAD software, data management practices, and product lifecycle management processes.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to SolidWorks and PDM.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach to support.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • SolidWorks Certification (CSWA, CSWP, or equivalent).
  • Experience with SQL or database management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based applications and data storage solutions.

 

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $82,560.00 - $96,000.00 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
