Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fab Tech to join our team. The ideal candidate will fabricate metallic components using the installed equipment. Metal Fab Tech responsibilities include evaluation of drawing, operation of equipment, maintaining equipment clean and ready to use, inspection of parts fabricated. This role is critical in providing hands-on in fabrication of metallic components using available equipment and following safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate materials and equipment.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as press brakes, Laser/punch machine, punch press, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
  • Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.
  • Fabricate, modify and/or install various metallic or non-metallic items and components.
  • Perform metal corrections
  • Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations.
  • Set up, operate and maintain production tools and equipment.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of problems, progress and suggestions in a timely manner.
  • Always maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Identify opportunities that provide cost effective alternative methods to process materials.
  • Keep red-lines and mark ups of any drawing changes required during manufacturing and turn-in, to supervisor upon their request.
  • Perform other duties which may be required by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 Years in Metal Fabrication.
  • Forklift certified and training authorized.
  • Appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
  • Experience with metal fabrication (laser, press brake, bus bar)
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with different points of views, convey priorities, and address issues promptly.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, and unforeseen challenges while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
  • Skill in addressing conflicts and resolving interpersonal issues among team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet production deadlines.
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented effectively, and root causes are addressed comprehensively.

Physical Demands

  • Activities: Sitting – 10% Walking/Standing – 90%
  • Lifting: Continuously lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, and climb.
  • Vision: Ability to see small or detailed items.
  • Mental Demands: Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $89,440 - $104,000 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
