Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ops Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead our Metal fabrication and assembly teams, ensuring the execution of fabrication priorities with a strong focus on efficiency, safety, and quality. This role is critical in providing the guidance and support necessary for the team to develop products that meet established quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Lab Fab technicians are executing the production schedule and priorities as communicated.
- Facilitate daily stand-up meetings with cross-functional teams
- Take Ownership of corrective or preventative actions with respect to quality and correcting root causes with all teams.
- Optimize production capacity, efficiency by monitoring productivity and quality.
- Identifying and resolving production problems in a timely manner.
- Train and mentor fabrication / Assembly staff perform quality work and routinely inspect all areas for first- time quality work.
- Assist Fab Lab Manager with gathering details associated with quality issues and determining root causes to prevent recurrence.
- Communicate consumable and material needs and shortages to Material Manager before it affects production.
- Manage workforce in line with policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies on attendance, performance, and conduct.
- Enforce proper escalation procedures to effectively and efficiently resolve issues.
- Prepare fabricated products for shipment
- Receive and review materials delivered to Fab Lab.
- Follow internal TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
2. Documentation and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that First-of-Kind covers all quality requirements by maintaining detailed documentation of validation and fabrication processes, including test reports and analysis of results.
3. Continuous Improvement Participation:
- Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and other improvement methodologies.
- Coordinate technical training for technicians
4. KPI’S
- Responsible for on time promise (%)
- Manage consumables and safety standards
- Right-first time (%)
- KPI dashboards updated
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in production in manufacturing environment
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience in managing teams, driving production efficiency, and ensuring quality standards.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and safety protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately.
- Experience with metal fabrication (laser, press brake, bus bar) and assembly.
- Experience with switchgear fabrication and/or manufacturing would be beneficial.
- Ability to provide guidance, direction, and support to teams, including stepping into leadership roles as needed.
- Collaboration: Skill in working effectively with cross-functional teams, such as Production Planning, Engineering, Project Management, and Materials, to achieve common goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with different points of views, convey priorities, and address issues promptly.
- Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving production challenges in a timely manner, often requiring coordination with multiple departments.
- Capability to mentor and train team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, production schedules, and unforeseen challenges while maintaining productivity and quality standards. - Skill in addressing conflicts and resolving interpersonal issues among team members, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.

Compensation
The salary range for this role is $98,800 - $135,200 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
