Estimation Engineer
Location: Remote - US
Reports To: Estimating Manager
Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 Annually
Position Summary
You will be part of the Estimating Department that will provide the Sales Division with support by performing proposal preparation and in-depth analysis of engineering and design.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare technical quotations for IEM’s Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear projects.

Analyze project technical requirements to develop accurate cost estimates for engineering projects.

Collect and evaluate project costs, including raw materials, components, and labor, to ensure precise estimates.

Revise proposals and update costs as project information or scope changes.

Review proposal drawings for accuracy before submission to the Sales team.

Collaborate with project management, application engineering, and procurement teams throughout the estimating process.

Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications for Requests for Quotes (RFQs).

Prepare and produce proposals, including specification CDs & Es, in response to RFQs.

Obtain vendor quotations for buyout items as directed by Sales.

Review and summarize RFQ documents to highlight key information for the Sales team.

Attend pre-bid meetings as required to support project and proposal development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing electrical power distribution equipment.
- Experience in reading single line diagrams and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV switchgear and previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Experience with complex proposals/quotations in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills are a must.
- Experience with paralleling controls and/or PLC/HMI controls are a preferred.
- Travel will be required during on-boarding and training period. This period will last 3-6 months and require up to 25% travel during that time.
Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
