Position Summary
The Engineering Administrator is a vital link between the Engineering, Procurement, and Operations departments. This role is responsible for the technical integrity of our component database, ensuring that every purchase electrical component, from power supplies to industrial switches, is accurately documented, vetted against engineering standards, and kept current throughout its lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
- Component Verification: Review and validate manufacturer specifications for electrical components and assemblies to ensure they meet design engineers provided specifications.
- BOM & Part Number Alignment: Validate and cross-reference vendor part numbers against the Engineering Bill of Materials (BOM) to eliminate procurement errors.
- Technical Library Management: Maintain and organize the company’s centralized network folders, ensuring that Sales and Operations teams have immediate access to the latest verified data sheets and specifications.
- Lifecycle & Obsolescence Monitoring: Conduct regular audits of the component catalog to track changes in specifications, part number updates, or manufacturer discontinuations.
- Change Management: Proactively identify and integrate replacement components for obsolete items, ensuring all documentation is updated to reflect the latest industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Data Integrity: High level of accuracy in managing part-numbering systems and digital filing structures.
- Communication: Ability to distill technical data into accessible information for non-engineering departments like Sales and Operations.
- Experience: Previous experience in an engineering support, document control, or technical administrative role, preferably within the electrical or data center industry.
- Education: Minimum of two years of college completed
- Professional Experience: * Proven working background within a Design Engineering environment.
- Practical experience working in Manufacturing settings, with a solid understanding of production workflows and quality standards.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $50,000 -$70,720 per year, based on location, experience, and qualifications.
