PURPOSE OF POSITION:
In the position of Calibration/FAIR Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out calibration and FAI procedural activities, such as, but not limited to:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Collect and Perform thorough Inspection, Test and Measurement Equipment (IMTE) inspections/calibrations.
• Use, Repair and Test IMTE per quality standards.
• Ensures IMTE is calibrated as per specifications and industry standards.
• Address and troubleshoot any inquires and IMTE failures.
• Ensures staff has adequate IMTE and supplies for their activities.
• Maintain a record of IMTE calibrations and other daily activities.
• Analyze and interpret calibration data to identify any issues or trends
• Maintain updated knowledge of current industry practices and standards related to calibration
• Read Blueprints
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) as assigned
• Produce FAI Reports (FAIR) as assigned
• Maintain records associated with FAI process
• Provide FAI Status reports to team
• Good communication skills and willingness to work with other departments
• Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.


COMPETENCIES:
• Extensive IMTE troubleshooting skills
• IMTE maintenance requirements
• Familiar with ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and AS9102 (Aerospace FAI) requirements
• Attention to detail
• Organizational and time management skills

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Engineering degree or technical training/certification is preferred
• At least 3 years of experience as a calibration technician.
• Have performed multiple multi-level BOM, assembly based FAIs with multiple subassemblies/components


PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL:
Physical Demands:
Activities: Sitting – 30% Walking/Standing – 70%
Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb.
Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.
Mental Demands: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Environment: Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.

Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $29.33 - $31.25
