Reports To: Calibration & FAI Supervisor

Salary Range: $18.27 & $30.29

Position Summary: 

FAI technicians perform first article inspections in a manufacturing environment ensuring components are within design specifications.

Please note that this position will be 100% in office, no remote work

Key Responsibilities:

Read blueprints and decipher how to obtain certain measurements

  • Make accurate and precise measurements
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) as assigned
  • Produce FAI Reports (FAIR) as assigned
  • Maintain records associated with FAI process
  • Provide FAI status updates to stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong working knowledge of precision dimensional measuring equipment such as but not limited to tape measures, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, radius gauges and protractors
  • Able to make accurate measurements, precisely
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Office 365
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and AS9102 standards

  • Organizational and time management skills
  • SOLIDWORKS Inspection and Project Data Management familiarity could bring additional compensation

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing precision measuring equipment
  • At least 1 year of FAI experience

PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL:

Physical Demands:

Activities: Sitting – 30% Walking/Standing – 70%

Lifting: Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.

Bending: Must be able to bend, squat, crawl and climb.

Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.

Mental Demands: Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Environment: Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
