About the Role:

Are you looking to join a company that sits at the intersection of real estate investing, interior designing, luxury experiences and new product innovation?

Industrious is the fastest growing flex-office and workplace experience platform with the goal of scaling to $1bn+ of revenue in the next 3-years. The company is backed by a top-tier parent company (CBRE, which is the largest commercial real estate service provider with a market cap of $40bn), powered by an ambitious team, and entering a new phase of growth. We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Vice President of Finance to help lead us there.

This is more than an average finance role. As VP of Finance & Corporate Development, you’ll be a key partner in helping shape the company’s long-term vision, assess and navigate risk, deploy its growth capital (including M&A), and unlock new opportunities for growth. You’ll combine financial rigor with strategic insight - ensuring the company scales with discipline, clarity and ambition.

This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Please note that this role will not include accounting or controllership responsibilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape the future: You’ll be part of the core leadership team honing the strategic vision for Industrious. This will include assessing how our capital should be deployed - (i) where should we open our next 200 locations globally, (ii) what new products should we invest in and (iii) what M&A targets should we pursue
  • Unlock global potential: Leverage data-driven insights to identify hidden patterns and global opportunities to surface insights that drive company performance. This will include (i) optimizing our network performance, (ii) driving revenue-management including dynamic pricing models and customer retention strategies and (iii) creating business models for new products and services
  • Combine finance with physical design: This role will be responsible for the interplay of space design, new membership products and real estate underwriting. Meaning how do we design the next generation of workplaces, that serve different customer use cases and generate the most money possible? Once we have the customers in our spaces, how do we manage revenue and price effectively to maximize lifetime value? We have the design, product and construction teams. We’re looking for the business advisor
  • Steward resources: Own budgeting, forecasting, capital planning and KPI development for the company to ensure we achieve operational goals while maximizing value. Please note that this role will not include accounting or controllership responsibilities.
  • Champion people management and build trust: In this role, you’re directly leading a small FP&A department and providing leadership across many cross-functional teams. Your responsibility is to foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and accountability across departments and within the finance team. This is a tight-knit team so it’s crucial to engender deep trust and create space for mentorship.
  • Player-coach:  The FP&A department at Industrious is composed of a (i) Strategic Finance team and (ii) Revenue Management team. This is a small, tip-of-the-spear team that is responsible for driving company-wide initiatives. You will be a player-coach that is personally responsible for meaningful projects

Who you are:

  • A strategic operator with 10+ years of progressive finance experience with recent experience as a senior finance leader
  • Demonstrated corporate finance sophistication with experience in deploying capital and / or evaluating investment opportunities
  • Strong technical and financial skills alongside familiarity with different business models
  • Experience in commercial negotiations
  • Ability to navigate through complex financial and operational situations to maximize results
  • Ability to lead teams through example, through influence, through an ultra-high EQ
  • Extremely sharp critical thinking and issue spotting
  • Crisp, clear, memorable communication
  • Ability to not just handle change, but to embrace it. It’s going to be a thrilling ride and we’re going to try things no one has done before, so you have to be ready for that journey
  • High integrity leader, team builder and educator who is trustworthy
