We seek an experienced and e-commerce-orientated Vice President & Global Controller to lead our global accounting practices and teams while also serving as a key partner to our Chief Financial Officer and the Executive Team. This role will oversee accounting operations, audit coordination, tax compliance (domestic and foreign), cash management, and financial strategy. As a key leader at Infinite Commerce, the VP & Global Controller will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP & IFRS), ongoing process optimization, and financial and management reporting accuracy.
KEY EXPECTATIONS (FIRST 6 MONTHS)
- Led the transition from QuickBooks Desktop (multiple instances) to a consolidated NetSuite, including updates to the chart of accounts (departments, locations, classes), workflow optimization, reporting enhancements, and a reduction in manual work through automation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, improve visibility, and maximize ERP benefits for transparency and management reporting.
- Partner with Legal and People & Culture teams to evaluate new entity evaluation and formations for India, the Philippines, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
- Execute and enforce the continued transformational work across our Accounting & Finance Teams with strong operational output.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee accounting operations and consolidations for multiple existing subsidiaries (US & APAC), including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash flow, intercompany transactions, and financial audits, while managing bookkeeping requirements for foreign entities in China (current) and future markets such as India, the Philippines, Costa Rica, and future others.
- Collaborate with Legal and People & Culture teams on entity evaluation, formation, and compliance.
- Lead financial reporting and monthly/quarterly/annual close processes, providing accurate and timely financial statements.
- Develop and publish accurate real-time and near-real-time reporting capabilities for key performance indicators (KPIs) to support decision making and transparency.
- Lead and manage tax filing, reporting, and compliance requirements, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and overseas taxes.
- Oversee business license filings, VAT filings, jurisdiction setup, and regulatory compliance while reviewing quarterly tax provisions, signing off on annual tax returns, and evaluating long-term tax strategy in collaboration with external advisors.
- Drive process improvement, automation, and ERP implementation to optimize financial operations. Communicate with all departments and stakeholders.
- Create and manage auditable practices and internal controls with clean, easy-to-read and follow support.
- Manage the calculation, tracking, and reporting of stock-based compensation, partnering with the Chief People & Culture Officer to oversee equity compensation programs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review, and distribute reporting packages for lenders, debt holders, sponsors, investors, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and compliance measures to align with regulatory requirements.
- Manage and optimize treasury functions, budgeting, and financial forecasting to improve cost efficiency – working close with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions, ensuring seamless financial integration.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a global accounting team across different time zones, leveraging synchronous and asynchronous modalities.
- Report on and monitor key financial KPIs, making strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred).
- 10-15+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years of closely related leadership/management experience over accounting teams.
- Prior experience with an ecommerce business; must understand revenue recognition guidelines and accounting practices related to shipping costs, duties, physical inventory, and capitalization practices.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, China GAAP, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Demonstrated experience implementing and working with ERP applications (i.e., Netsuite, Workday, Sage) highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience working with and navigating external stakeholder relationships, including lenders, debt holders, investors, and private equity is essential to ongoing success.
- Experience managing global accounting teams across US and APAC regions.
- Expertise in ERP implementation, financial automation, and process improvement.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, Bill.com, and other financial tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Public/SEC reporting experience (10-Q’s, 10-K’s, 8-K’s, and Proxy Statements) is a plus.
- E-commerce or Distribution business environment experience
COMPENSATION:
The anticipated hiring range for this position is USD $234,000 to USD $250,000. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in an annual incentive program as a percentage of base salary, inclusion in our health and welfare benefit programs, and time off programs (vacation, sick, and floating holidays) among other benefits. The compensation and benefits provided for this role are subject to change and may be adjusted due to local market conditions based on the final work location of the incumbent.
