The role

As the Chief Platform Architect at Infinite Reality, you will be responsible for defining the technical vision and strategy for our products and services. Drawing upon your extensive experience in software architecture and design, you will lead the development of scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between technical decisions and business objectives, driving innovation and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

What you’ll do

• Technical Leadership: 
  • Provide visionary technical leadership to the SDE and DevOps teams, guiding them in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and scalable infrastructure. 
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to drive innovation and spearhead the development of next-generation infrastructure solutions.
  • Design and build existing and new shared simulation systems for multi-player immersive simulations.
• Exceptional Problem Solving: 
  • Demonstrate the ability to tackle complex problems, starting from an unknown, and implementing novel solutions. 
  • Lead organization-wide R&D efforts by prototyping and evaluating cutting-edge infrastructure solutions.
• System Architecture: 
  • Work closely with software engineers and architects to design, develop, and maintain architecture solutions that underpin our applications and services.
  • Build control theory and real-time systems, multiplayer physics simulations, MMO games, and EXA scale CVNs.
  • Work with large data across hybrid cloud deployments e.g. voice and video streaming. 
• Reliability and Performance: 
  • Develop and enforce strategies to maintain high system reliability, availability, and performance, continuously monitoring and improving system health.
  • Work on DevOps operations for million DAU apps as well as large 3D multimedia pipelines.
• SSDLC: 
  • Design, implement, and monitor the Secure Software Development Life Cycle process in alignment with InfoSec best practices.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): 
  • Manage and expand the use of Infrastructure as Code tools and practices to ensure reproducibility and consistency across environments.
• Scalability: 
  • Drive efforts to scale infrastructure horizontally and vertically to support growing demands while optimizing costs.
• Mentorship: 
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development. 
  • You will be managing a very skilled global matrix team.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in software architecture and design, with a focus on designing and building scalable, distributed systems.
• Experience shipping multiple 3D products with at least one as a Software as a Service offering.
• Experience with real time 3D rendering engines such as Unity and Unreal, and 3D tools especially with WebGL and WebXR, as well as WASM, WebGPU and Vulkan
• Proven track record of technical leadership and innovation, with experience defining and executing technical strategies for complex projects.
• Deep expertise in software architecture patterns, design principles, and best practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern software development practices (e.g., Agile, DevOps) preferred.
• Previous experience in multiplayer networking - Unity Mirror, UNET, and Photon 
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for learning new technologies and methodologies.

Base pay will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, certifications, experience, market demands, and locations.
