No coding experience is required. Just design, publish, measure and monetize.

The role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HRIS Specialist to help build our HR initiatives and ensure a positive and compliant work environment. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for employee relations, enforcing compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and partnering to foster a collaborative and productive workplace. What you’ll do
- Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to build strong relationships, improve morale, and enhance productivity. Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, coach managers on effective communication and conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary actions, and restructures. Ensure all employee interactions are documented accurately and timely.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations across states. Conduct thorough investigations into employee relations matters, providing objective and unbiased recommendations to leadership. Determine root causes and recommend proactive strategies to address and mitigate these concerns.
- Advisory & Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and legal standards. Proactively identify potential compliance risks and solutions.
- Change Management: Support organizational changes, such as restructures or mergers, by partnering with leadership to ensure smooth transitions. Develop initiatives to enhance the employee experience, build strong relationships across the organization, and promote a culture of inclusion and transparency.
- HR Operations & Systems: Manage and update HR processes and utilize HRIS tools to process new hires, terminations, and internal transfers, maintaining up-to-date and accurate records in accordance with company standards and government regulations. Oversee the administration of leaves of absence, ensuring compliance with FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws. Monitor HR inquiries and provide timely, accurate guidance on HR policies, benefits, and employment law.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data and HR metrics to provide insights to leadership and make informed decisions. Track key performance indicators and adhere to standard operating procedures in partnership with our Mgr. People Operations.
- Training & Development: Stay current on HR best practices and employment law through continuous learning. Share knowledge and updates with the team to ensure adherence to legal requirements and foster a culture of compliance and growth.
- Special Projects: Take on special projects and initiatives as needed, contributing to the overall strategic goals of the HR department and the organization.
What you’ll bring
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in Human Resources with a focus on employee relations and HR compliance in a high-growth, tech, or startup environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in HR best practices, employee relations, and regulatory compliance (ie. CA).
- Deep understanding of U.S. employment law, multi-state regulations (extensive knowledge of CA required), and best practices in employee relations and HR compliance. Global is a huge plus.
- Tech savvy i.e. Microsoft Office, Slack and various HRIS platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results.
- Proven problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset to navigate complex issues and provide effective solutions.
Base Salary Range
$75,000 - $95,000 USD
Base pay will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, certifications, experience, market demands, and locations.
