About the Role

We are seeking a high-impact Business Development Manager to lead Infinitum’s growth in the data center market by securing our motors as the standard for new construction and major infrastructure upgrades. This role is focused on driving top-of-funnel engagement with data center owners, facility teams, and their engineering partners.

The role will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic accounts, creating demand for Infinitum’s technology in a legacy-driven industry, and ultimately getting our motors specified as the basis of design in at least three data center projects by the end of 2026. This is a relationship-driven, execution-focused role that requires comfort navigating long sales cycles, multi-stakeholder accounts, and complex design ecosystems.

Working alongside Application Engineers for technical support, you’ll own the commercial relationship, guide strategic account planning, and position Infinitum as a go-to partner for energy-efficient, sustainable, next-generation motor technology in mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage data center owners, developers, facility engineers, and design consultants to create demand for Infinitum’s motor technology
  • Influence mechanical and electrical design teams to specify Infinitum motors as the basis of design in new construction and infrastructure upgrade projects
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans targeting hyperscalers, colocation providers, and design/build firms
  • Own the commercial relationship and account strategy from first touch through successful specification and procurement
  • Partner with Application Engineers to ensure technical alignment and successful integration of Infinitum motors into design documentation
  • Represent Infinitum at data center industry events, technical working groups, and strategic meetings with customers and engineering firms
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales pipeline forecasts, and reporting on spec-in progress and wins
  • Track competitive landscape, market dynamics, and customer roadmaps to uncover spec-in timing opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or strategic accounts—preferably in HVAC, energy efficiency, or mission-critical industries
  • Demonstrated success selling into large data center or hyperscale accounts
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical contracting, and facility operations
  • Skilled at managing long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and layers of approval
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and account development skills
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience influencing specifications for new construction projects
  • Familiarity with MEP consulting firms and design-build workflows
  • Knowledge of energy codes, incentive programs, or sustainability initiatives in data centers

Mission

Establish Infinitum as the preferred motor technology for data center HVAC systems by securing specification wins in new builds and major infrastructure upgrades, with a measurable goal of being named basis of design in at least three major data center projects by the end of 2026.

Competencies

  1. Spec-In Sales Mastery
  • Skilled in identifying design influencers and aligning project stakeholders
  • Understands how to navigate the spec cycle from early conversations through bid and procurement
  1. Strategic Account Development
  • Builds and executes long-term account plans targeting data center operators and their engineering partners
  • Develops a network of advocates across facility, design, procurement, and executive teams
  1. Industry Influence & Presence
  • Positions Infinitum as a thought leader and trusted solution provider
  • Confidently represents the company at events, panels, and meetings with senior stakeholders
  1. Technical Commercial Acumen
  • Frames product differentiation around system performance, sustainability, and total cost of ownership
  • Collaborates effectively with technical teams to shape compelling spec packages
  1. Long-Cycle Deal Management
  • Comfortable managing opportunities over 12–24+ month timeframes
  • Disciplined with CRM, reporting, and forecast hygiene
  1. Initiative & Drive
  • Proactive, persistent, and self-directed in identifying and pursuing new opportunities

Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
