Expectations of the role

The Python/SQL Developer - SEM assists the E-commerce team’s collective efforts to provide effective search engine marketing and search engine optimization for our clients by leveraging their technical skills.  You will work with both technical and non-technical team members to help the larger team meet our aggressive growth targets.  A significant impact is boosting the team’s work capacity and efficiency by eliminating repetitive, time-consuming manual operations.

 

What you will do
In this role, you will learn how to maintain and make modifications to our many existing automations and processes.  Additionally, you will work on new, significant opportunities to leverage APIs to tackle business problems.  You will work independently to conduct research, such as within API documentation, as an example.  And you will write code to create new functionality for both ad hoc as well as regularly recurring automations to make progress on road map initiatives.  You will collaborate with other technical team members to integrate with other processes, or to implement new ones as needed.      

Relevant areas of work: Google Ads API, Google Merchant API, Microsoft Advertising API, Microsoft Graph API, Reseller Ratings API, Google Analytics Tag Manager, SEO sitemap-related processes.

 

What you will bring

  • Experience writing and reading SQL (T-SQL)
  • Experience with building and maintaining ETL (extract, transform, load) processes
  • Experience working with relational databases
  • At least 2 years' experience writing and reading Python
  • Experience building, testing, and monitoring data pipelines
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.).
  • Ability to document and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for learning and taking on new challenges.

 

Nice to have:

  • Comfortable with using Microsoft data software (SQL Server, Azure, Power BI, PowerShell, Visual Studio and the Windows command line
  • Experience building and maintaining API integrations
  • Strong cross-functional oral and written communication skills – ability to work with technical and non-technical staff
