We are looking for a passionate person, who’s willing to support family involvement through community and school engagement, while facilitating the implementation of best practices for family engagement. 

To ensure success as the Ingenuity Prep Family Engagement Manager, you will report to the Director of Family and Community Engagement (DFCE). The Family Engagement Manager position exists to function as part of the network of assistance for students and families in early childhood, elementary, and middle school academies. This position will help coordinate communications and activities among the staff, families, and community.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The core responsibilities of the Family Engagement Manager role at Ingenuity Prep include:

Attendance Coordination and Management:

  • Create and implement attendance programming and interventions that move student data concerning truancy and chronic absenteeism
  • Regularly communicates with school principals, families, and teachers regarding matters related to student attendance and welfare. 
    • Gather and report on attendance data
    • Coordinate home visits
    • Ensure student attendance meetings occur as required 
  • Facilitate training of school personnel in matters related to student attendance and welfare 
  • In partnership with the Attendance Team:
    • Develop and maintain a backup table in Infinite Campus, by creating monitoring tools, and developing a strategy for the year with developing supporting dashboards, and tools. 
    • Provide oversight of the CFSA Educational Neglect submission process
    • Periodically review Qlik to ensure timely and accurate submission. 
    • Prepare attendance and student reports, as requested. 

Family Engagement:

  • Plans, coordinates, and provides activities and programs related to family engagement that are aligned with the school's strategic plan, including: 
    • Provide resources to families to promote the emotional, physical, and academic success of students
    • Develop and facilitate the implementation of best practices for family engagement
    • Collaborates with Family PRIDE Academy and Family Engagement Leads to develop family activities to increase student and family engagement/achievement
    • Oversee the maintenance of family engagement surveys and data
    • Provides training to parent liaisons on building parent capacity to increase student achievement, 
  • Maintain a professional awareness of federal and state regulations regarding McKinney-Vento (MKV) to ensure MKV students and families needs are identified, and steps are taken to meet those needs through school resources and community agencies

  • You have superior initiative - you take instruction well, but do not wait for it
  • You prioritize your own continuous learning and desire feedback 
  • You are proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint or Google Suite alternatives

Travel Requirement: This role does require, at times, traveling and visiting student residences and centralized community locations regarding attendance throughout the Washington, DC, area. Interested candidates should have consistent and reliable transportation of their own to fulfill the assigned duties of the role.

Salary: $73,833 - $92,208 (commensurate with 1-10 years of experience)
