SY26-27 Director of Student Services

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Director of Student Support, you will lead and strengthen Ingenuity Prep’s special education program, ensuring students with diverse learning needs receive high-quality, compliant, and impactful support. You will drive vision, execution, and continuous improvement across student services while developing a high-performing team and partnering closely with school leaders.
Special Education Strategy & Compliance
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Ingenuity Prep’s special education program
- Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, including internal LEA processes and audit readiness
- Monitor the quality and fidelity of IEPs, ensuring services, accommodations, and instructional supports meet student needs
- Oversee service hour compliance and partner with case managers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of services
- Lead the evaluation, identification, and placement process for students with disabilities
- Drive strong progress monitoring systems and data analysis to inform interventions, program adjustments, and student outcomes
- Ensure high-quality planning and execution of Extended School Year (ESY) programming
Student Services Team Leadership
- Set and drive a clear vision, goals, and strategic priorities for the Student Services Team (SST)
- Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team (school psychologists, SLPs, ABA, OT, and related service providers) to meet or exceed performance goals
- Design and implement robust professional development aligned to team and organizational priorities
- Build a strong adult culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth
- Coach and support school leaders, including Principals and Special Education Vice Principals, to strengthen special education practices across academies
Schoolwide Impact & Family Support
- Serve as the school’s lead on special education legal matters and liaison with counsel
- Partner with Student Support and Wellness leaders to ensure coordinated, high-quality support for students and families
- Collaborate with instructional and school leaders to ensure inclusive, student-centered practices across classrooms
Senior Leadership Team Collaboration
- Serve as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, shaping organizational priorities and decisions
- Provide strategic insight and feedback to strengthen the effectiveness and compliance of student services programming
- Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment, strong execution, and improved outcomes for all students

WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's Degree (in any field); Master's Degree in Education/Special Education preferred
- Experience in a DC charter school; K-5 or K-8 environment preferred

Salary Range: $104,545 - $130,562 (commensurate with 1-10 years of experience)
