SY26-27 Middle School Culture Specialist (Temporary)
*This role is a short-term hire to cover the extended leave of a current employee; the expected length of time for coverage is August 2026 to February 2027.*

WHAT YOU’LL DO
As our Middle School Culture Specialist, you will play a critical role in fostering a safe, structured, and joyful learning environment where all students can thrive. Working closely with students, families, teachers, school leaders, and members of the MSA team, you will provide proactive and responsive behavioral support to help students remain engaged in learning and connected to their school community. Through restorative practices, relationship-building, and collaborative problem-solving, you will help students develop the skills needed to navigate challenges, strengthen positive behaviors, and make the most of their time in the classroom. In this role, you will support students and staff through:
Build and Maintain a Positive Student Culture
- Provide restorative, reflective, and relationship-centered interventions for students experiencing behavioral challenges, with a focus on identifying root causes and supporting successful reentry into class.
- Respond to behavior incidents and provide crisis intervention to minimize lost instructional time and maximize student engagement in learning.
- Support the implementation of schoolwide culture systems, expectations, and behavior management practices to ensure a safe, structured, and joyful learning environment.
- Partner with teachers and school leaders to proactively address student behavior concerns and develop strategies that support student growth and success.
Support Student Success Through Collaboration and Intervention
- Collaborate with members of the Student & Family Support Team to implement behavior interventions and support multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS/RTI).
- Monitor and support student progress toward behavioral and social-emotional goals, using data to inform interventions and next steps.
- Build strong partnerships with families through ongoing communication, problem-solving, and collaboration to support student growth both in and out of school.
- Work closely with academy leadership, counselors, and other student support staff to ensure coordinated and effective support for students.
- Contribute to schoolwide operations, student supervision, and other duties that help maintain a strong school culture and positive student experience.

WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in schools, youth development programs, community organizations, or similar settings.
- Experience supporting student behavior, restorative practices, social-emotional learning, or school culture initiatives strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $20.57 - $25.69 (commensurate with 1-10 years of experience)
