Senior UI Artist

Insomniac is looking for its next Senior UI Artist. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation of industry-leading user experiences for Insomniac’s developer- and player-facing products. Designs and develops solutions that enable the player to navigate, locate information, and accomplish goals while maximizing the end-user experience by prioritizing usability and accessibility. Contributing wireframes, mockups, motion comps, iconography, prototypes, and in-game implementation of assets in a multi-functional team environment, as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:  

  • Collaborates with artists, designers, and developers to implement and deploy consistent and intuitive user experiences that support the art, design, and technical vision for games                                                          
  • Owns and iterates on impactful user-facing features and systems through all phases of the game development cycle from prototype to polish for a single game
  • Plans and deploys improvements to the development process creating efficiencies beyond the team, while modeling what exemplary UI/UX looks like
  • Advances the capabilities of existing UI/UX tools and current industry trends
  • Proactively drives what and how work needs to be created and implemented
  • Contributes to the documentation of team institutional knowledge
  • Communicates nuanced concepts and ideas effectively by embracing a shared language in order to solidify partnerships across functions and teams
  • Proactively encourages and enables mentorship and growth opportunities for the team
  • Promotes the importance of well-being and inclusivity within the organization, acting as a vocal proponent for the needs of the team
  • Advocates relentlessly for our players and the end-to-end user experience
  • Other duties may be assigned

Computer Skills: 

  • Extensive knowledge of the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Animate, AfterEffects, and Illustrator) and other related content creation packages (Maya).
  • Thorough understanding of digital interaction design fundamentals and patterns.
  • Ability to adhere to the style guides and development best practices, including source control standards.
  • Familiarity with front-end development tools and technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) a plus.
  • Ability to use common workplace collaborative software like Microsoft Office products.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Base pay is one component of our total compensation package. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location, as well as additional compensation components, such as annual bonus, profit sharing, and other incentive plans.
