Technology Operations Engineer
What You’ll Do:
The Technology Operations Engineer supports, maintains, and improves business-critical applications, integrations, and operational technologies across the organization. This role serves as a key technical resource for application support, issue resolution, system monitoring, security administration, and end-user technology services. The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver with experience supporting enterprise applications, troubleshooting production issues, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process improvement. Experience supporting mortgage-related applications or business processes is helpful, but not required. The ideal candidate is a quick learner, strong problem solver, and effective communicator who can work across technical and non-technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide application support for business-critical systems, including troubleshooting incidents, analyzing root causes, and coordinating timely resolution.
- Monitor application health, system interfaces, scheduled jobs, and data flows to ensure reliable performance and issue prevention.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application errors, data issues, and process failures across integrated systems.
- Support mortgage-related applications and operational workflows when applicable, including issue triage, user support, and coordination with technical teams.
- Troubleshoot, configure, and support the Loan Origination and Point of Sale system add-ons and related integrations to ensure stable operation and effective user support.
- Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, coordinate fixes, support system changes, and ensure timely resolution of production and application-related problems.
- Support application deployments, release validation, hotfix implementation, and post-release monitoring.
- Push reports and related updates to production environments in accordance with established release and change management procedures.
- Provide first-level to intermediate support for desktops, printers, laptops, monitors, and other end-user hardware, including setup, troubleshooting, and replacement coordination.
- Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, peripheral, and workstation issues to minimize downtime and maintain user productivity.
- Install, configure, and support standard desktop software, printers, and peripheral devices in alignment with company procedures.
- Coordinate new hire equipment onboarding, including preparing, configuring, and issuing laptops, monitors, peripherals, and required software access.
- Serve as the Security Officer for assigned technology and operational responsibilities, including managing user access, adding and removing users, helping enforce security practices, and coordinating security-related activities.
- Support termination-related security processes, including deprovisioning access, retrieving company equipment, and coordinating with relevant teams to ensure proper closure.
- Maintain and update business continuity and disaster recovery (BCP/DR) plans to support operational readiness and recovery objectives.
- Prepare and provide data, documentation, and support materials for quarterly IT audit activities.
- Document support procedures, known issues, troubleshooting steps, and resolution outcomes to improve operational efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Communicate clearly with business users and technical teams regarding issue status, system impacts, and recommended solutions.
- Quickly build understanding of new applications, business processes, and subject areas while maintaining strong service and support standards.
- Provide after-hours or on-call support as needed for critical incidents, deployments, or business operations.
What You Have:
- Working knowledge of SQL, including basic query writing and data analysis for troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting business applications, interfaces, batch jobs, reports, desktops, printers, and other end-user hardware in a production environment.
- Basic knowledge of Windows desktop environments, device setup, printer support, peripheral troubleshooting, and production support processes.
- Experience supporting report deployments, production releases, or change management activities is preferred.
- Experience preparing data or documentation for audit, compliance, or review activities is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to create support procedures, incident summaries, and process documentation.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Quick learner who can adapt to new systems, business processes, hardware environments, and changing priorities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or participate in on-call support, if required.
Your Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in application support, production support, systems support, desktop support, or a related technical role.
