About the Role
As a DevOps Engineer at Inspiren, you'll play a pivotal role in the design, deployment, and operation of our cloud-based infrastructure. You'll drive automation, reliability, and security across CI/CD pipelines, serverless workloads, and edge services. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams to accelerate feature delivery, optimize costs, and support continued rapid growth, all while ensuring 24/7 reliability and observability.
The primary focus of this role is to improve developer productivity and the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle at Inspiren. This is essential for accelerating engineering velocity, enabling faster feedback loops, and building a foundation for scalable, reliable releases.
What you'll do
- Infrastructure Management: Ensure the scalability and reliability of our cloud-based infrastructure. Troubleshoot issues and implement backups and disaster recovery. Align capacity with growth and development needs, with an eye towards cost-efficiency.
- CI/CD & Releases: Design, implement, and optimize pipelines to automate builds, tests, and deployments across development, staging, and production environments. Assist in developing robust rollback procedures and runbooks for handling failed deployments. Continuously assess and enhance our deployment automation processes to maintain efficiency and reliability.
- Automated Quality: Implement and enforce a comprehensive automated testing strategy within the CI/CD pipeline. This involves configuring quality gates to ensure code meets a minimum test coverage threshold, integrating static analysis tools to maintain code quality and security, integrating testing frameworks to run unit and integration tests for every change, and building dashboards to provide visibility into test failures and pipeline health.
- Observability & Incident Response: Build and operate monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch, Sentry) to detect issues early, participate in on-call rotations, and drive post-mortem analyses.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce security best practices within our cloud infrastructure and educate team members on security protocols and incident response. Guarantee compliance with HIPAA and safeguard customer data through robust access controls and strategies.
About You
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure role supporting production workloads.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Proven, hands-on experience with AWS (including Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFront, S3, and RDS) to scale cloud infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and optimize resource usage. Experience with serverless architectures is essential.
- CI/CD: Proven ability to manage and refine CI systems using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Experience with automated deployment strategies, feature flags, automated rollbacks, backup, and disaster recovery planning is key.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong experience with IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- Observability & Monitoring: Hands-on experience using and configuring application monitoring and telemetry tools like New Relic, Sentry or DataDog to ensure system stability and provide deep insights into performance.
- Configuration Management: Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- IoT & Media Streaming: Familiarity with IoT integrations (AWS IoT Core) and media-streaming frameworks (gStreamer).
- Documentation: A passion for creating and improving system and platform documentation that lives as close to the code as possible. This includes leveraging AI where appropriate to generate and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Humility: Leave your ego at the door. Kind and thoughtful when working with others
Bonus Points
- Security & Compliance: Direct involvement in achieving and maintaining SOC-2 and/or HIPAA compliance.
- Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Cloud Practitioner.
