As a Hardware Quality Engineer, you will be the critical link between product design, manufacturing, and customer experience—ensuring our consumer electronics products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will lead quality efforts across the entire product lifecycle, from early design validation through production ramp and sustained manufacturing. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturers to build scalable and robust quality systems that support both rapid development cycles and mass production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end hardware quality assurance for consumer electronics from NPI to mass production.
Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection criteria, and test protocols for both incoming materials and finished goods.
  • Drive failure analysis and root cause investigations for issues identified in production lines and in the field; follow through with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and CMs to monitor and improve in-line process quality (e.g., yield, rework rates, DPMO, first pass yield).
  • Define product quality KPIs and report regularly to leadership on quality status, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Support product reliability testing, validation, and qualification activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Design for Quality (DFQ) principles are embedded early in the product design cycle.
  • Participate in factory audits, quality reviews, and supplier evaluations to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).

Required Qualifications

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC, ISO 9001, and reliability standards (e.g., HALT/HASS, ORT).
  • Proficient in quality tools and methods such as FMEA, 8D, DOE, SPC, and control plans.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

    • Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin is a plus.
