Engineering Manager, Infrastructure 

As an Engineering Manager at Instabase, you will lead teams responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance of our infrastructure. This role demands a balance of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to guide the team in maintaining robust systems, resolving complex challenges, and driving impactful projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain solutions that empower Instabase’s growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Leadership: Manage managers and ICs, leading a team of 10-15 people. Provide mentorship, career development, and technical guidance to ensure the team’s success.
  • Ownership: Take ownership of the reliability, scalability, and performance of Instabase’s systems and infrastructure, including both our SaaS and enterprise products.
  • Operational Excellence: Establish best practices for deployment, incident management, monitoring, and automation to minimize downtime and improve system performance.
  • Strategic Direction: Define and execute the roadmap, aligning with Instabase’s product and business goals. Identify opportunities to enhance reliability and efficiency across the organization.
  • Recruitment and Retention: Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that embodies Instabase’s values.
  • Technical Leadership: Maintain a strong understanding of technical details to support the team in solving complex issues and making informed decisions.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, and customer teams to ensure our platform meets the needs of our customers and scales effectively.

About You:

  • Proven Leadership: 5+ years of people management experience in infrastructure or SRE engineering discipline. Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Startup Experience: Hands-on experience building infrastructure in an early-stage startup environment, with a proven ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in fast-paced settings.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong foundation in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and container orchestration technologies (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • SaaS Experience: Experience in managing and scaling SaaS platforms in production environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $237,500 to $255,000 + bonus, equity, and benefits. The actual pay may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and skills.
