Growth Marketing Manager, Discoverability

San Francisco, California, United States

Instawork is on a mission to create meaningful economic opportunities for skilled hourly professionals in communities around the globe. Our AI-powered labor marketplace helps local businesses scale, and enables global technology companies to push the frontiers of robotics and AI. Backed by world-class investors like Benchmark, Spark Capital, Craft Ventures, Greylock, Y Combinator, and others, we’re looking for exceptional talent to reimagine the way the world works.

The way Partners (businesses) and Pros (workers) discover services like Instawork is being rewritten in real time by AI answer engines and the ever-evolving SEO space. We're looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to own Instawork's discoverability — how easily users find, understand, and choose us, wherever that discovery happens: a search engine, an AI assistant, or whatever comes next. You'll report to the Head of Growth Marketing.

Two things matter here more than anything else on your resume.

You're technical, you ship. You've built structured data and schema yourself, run your own crawl analyses, and traced rendering or indexation problems down to the root cause — with enough comfort in code to commit the fix yourself. You'll inherit AI agents built and tuned for content production at scale — you'll direct and sharpen them.

You're curious. Search is constantly changing, and the answer an AI assistant surfaces is becoming as important as ranking on page one. The playbook for getting there isn't written yet, and you're going to write it.

Who you are:

  • 2+ years in SEO, organic growth, with results you can walk us through. Tell us what you tracked, what you changed, and what moved.
  • Hands-on GEO experience across leading conversational assistants. You've tested how they retrieve, cite, and act on content, and have opinions about what works and why.
  • Deep technical SEO fluency: structured data and schema, rendering and indexation, crawl analysis, and enough comfort in our codebase to ship fixes yourself. You are a builder comfortable using Cursor, Replit, Zapier, n8n.
  • Fluency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, and at least one AI-visibility platform — Profound, Peec, Otterly, Scrunch, or tooling you built yourself.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Own Instawork's organic acquisition strategy across SEO and GEO. Set goals for non-branded visibility and share of voice in AI answers within mid- and bottom-funnel, lead-generating conversations — and be accountable for hitting them.
  • Lead technical SEO of our Webflow site including crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, and site speed.
  • Build Instawork’s answer-engine strategy across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google's AI surfaces. Grow our authority everywhere those systems actually pull from — review sites, industry publications, Reddit, Quora, YouTube. Execute a backlink strategy that strengthens our search authority.
  • Direct our agent-led content strategy, developing a content roadmap that matches search/prompt intent, and delivers on our goals.
  • Define the measurement layer, and instrument the funnel from organic and AI-referred discovery through to activation.
  • Own domain and technical health, working directly with Engineering — migrations, redirects, canonicalization, localization structure.

For CA-based applicants:

  • The base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000.
  • This position is eligible for equity in the form of stock options.
  • This position is eligible for Instawork benefits, including:
    • A variety of medical, dental, and vision plans with coverage beginning on the date of hire.
    • Flexible paid time off.
    • At least 8 paid company holidays annually.
    • Home office stipend.
    • Phone stipend.
    • Commuter stipend.
    • Supplemental pay on qualified leaves.
    • Employee health savings accounts (HSA) contribution.
    • Flexible spending plans.
    • 401K plan.
    • Perkspot - discount program through Lumity.

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location.  Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
