About the role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Tax Strategy Analyst to join our India-based team and collaborate with our US colleagues to build innovative tax strategies for our product, Instead. With over 100+ strategies already in our platform, you'll play a crucial role in expanding our offerings by researching, developing, and deploying new tax strategies on a weekly basis. If you're passionate about tax law, enjoy working with AI tools, and want to make tax strategies accessible to non-sophisticated users, this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of tax technology.

What you'll do

• Build new tax strategies and deploy them into the product on a weekly basis
• Research tax code per IRS and state legislation to identify viable tax strategies
• Build calculations utilizing AI to create easy-to-understand breakdowns of how strategies are calculated
• Utilize AI to build user-friendly UI experiences, making complex processes into simple point-and-click workflows
• Build instructions to teach AI chat systems how to respond when users ask questions about tax strategies
• Work with our US team to review customer feedback and make enhancements to new and existing tax strategies
• Take on additional projects as further development of strategies occurs

What you'll need

• Experience in tax preparation (prepared returns, reviewed returns)
• Experience in tax research
• High attention to detail
• Excitement for understanding how tax law translates into practical tax strategies
• Ability to translate complex tax concepts into user-friendly language
• Comfort working with AI tools and technology

Nice to have

• CPA license or EA license
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Familiarity with AI copilots and prompt engineering
• Experience working with US teams
