A core contributing factor to the influence Instiglio has had thus far includes our collaborative, highly skilled and diverse team. We are a team of 100+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, with offices in Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius and the USA. Our team of practitioners has extensive development and government experience, including previous roles in international development banks, management consulting, national governments, multilateral agencies, INGOs and academia.
How you will make an impact
Instiglio offers a unique work experience at the intersection of the private, public, and social sectors. As an Intern, Instiglio will offer you the opportunity to engage with a results-oriented environment; experience first-hand the fundamentals of a growing global business; and contribute to the momentum of the results movement in international development.
You will join a growing, entrepreneurial team delivering on impactful projects to enhance development outcomes in different countries. Within the team, Interns will work with a team composed of a Project Lead, Project Manager(s), Senior Associates, Associates, and/or Analysts to deliver high-quality services.
As an Intern, you will support the strategic communications team in:
Website Management
- Edit, format, and upload blog posts and impact stories.
- Upload new publications that include knowledge products and toolkits.
- Copy editing existing website content (typos, change images) monthly.
- Activate Google Ads to enhance search engine optimization (SEO) efforts to improve visibility.
- Google Analytics - set up the metrics and track these on a regular basis.
- Working closely with the People and Talent team, update the team and careers page.
- Support the team in translation of the website content to French.
Newsletter
- Support collating content for the monthly e-newsletters.
- Analytics - track the organizational e-newsletter metrics including growth and subscriptions on a monthly basis.
- Support with the production of the internal communications weekly e-newsletter.
Management Social Media
- Support in launching social media posts through the Hootsuite media platform.
- Support in graphics content creation for social media.
- Analytics - track growth metrics in terms of engagement on a monthly basis.
- Monitor social media channels for trending international development news and ideas.
- Grow audience on LinkedIn and Twitter. Ensure we are following clients, partners, thought leaders and key stakeholders etc.
Organizational
- Provide administrative support to the communications team, including preparing board and organizational reports.
- Support the management and coordination efforts of events, conferences and campaigns.
- Support the updating and organization of the knowledge management system i.e. SharePoint and Intranet.

Our ideal candidate is a Bachelor’s degree holder or is in their final year awaiting graduation, and is looking to kick start their career in the international development space. They will need to meet the following requirements:
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or related fields. (You have completed your undergraduate program or are in your final year).
Language Skills
- Full written and oral working proficiency in English (C1), Spanish (C2) and French as an added advantage.
Skills
- Highly analytical with excellent numerical accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), Google Workspace (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.).
- Ability to synthesize technical information into simple concepts and analyze information critically.
- Ability to work independently.
- High organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A team player attitude and enthusiasm for relational work with clients.
- Passion for national and international development.

Interns at Instiglio have a chance to develop a variety of skills, support in client-facing roles on projects, with the guidance of more experienced senior staff. On the condition of excellent performance, this position could convert to a full-time position. Instiglio has a strong feedback culture, with all staff receiving bi-annual formal, structured reviews, in addition to real-time feedback. Additionally, a mentorship system and development plans are in place to ensure that staff receive proper support in their professional development.
Working model and benefits
Successful candidate will be based in our Bogotá office. This opportunity is open to individuals who are authorized to work in Colombia,.
