Who we are

Instiglio’s mission is to build public institutions that truly work for societies and the planet. We exist to unlock the potential of public institutions — not by chasing marginal gains, but by reimagining and rebuilding them from the inside out.

We partner with governments and development actors (e.g., the World Bank, FCDO, Hilton Foundation) to align public funding with measurable outcomes and strengthen the systems, incentives, and capabilities that drive sustained impact. Over the past decade, we have worked in more than 30 low- and middle-income countries, helping institutions design and embed reforms that make every cent of public funding deliver public value.

To scale our impact, we incubated the Government Empowerment Network (GEN) —  a globally networked, AI-powered, and government-led reform accelerator designed to empower civil servants to incubate reforms that transform government institutions, strengthen service delivery, and improve citizens’ lives. GEN combines a six-month in-person reform incubator with an AI-enabled learning and collaboration platform, equipping champions to diagnose systemic challenges, design reforms, and strengthen delivery capabilities across ministries. Following a successful first cohort in Uganda with over 30 public servants from six ministries, we recently launched in Colombia, followed by Morocco later this year. In 2026, we plan to consolidate learnings and expand to at least two additional countries in 2026, while continuing to support current countries. 

Our team

A core contributing factor to the influence Instiglio has had thus far includes our collaborative, highly skilled and diverse team. We are a team of 80+ people, representing 15+ nationalities, with offices in Colombia, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius and Uganda. Our team brings together experience from government, management consulting, multilateral institutions, and the social sector; united by a mission to help governments perform better for their people.

The Opportunity 

As the Associate/SA Chief of Staff you will sit at the heartbeat of Instiglio — supporting the development of new systems, operating models, and leadership structures that allow our organization to scale impact globally. 

This is a role for someone who is equally:

You will: 

• Serve as the CEO’s principal strategic partner, elevating executive effectiveness, alignment, and strategic focus.
• Support the building and refinement of the core organizational systems that enable a high-performing, aligned, and impact-driven institution.
• Support the organization-wide Transformation & Change Management Program, driving AI integration, partnerships systems, impact management systems, and operating model evolution.
• Work directly with the Board, and Senior Leadership across the organization.  

How You Will Make an Impact 

• Strategic Leadership Support to the CEO and other senior leaders  
  • Structure and prepare CEO engagements with senior leadership, board members, key partners, and external stakeholders. 
  • Ensure the CEO’s priorities are clearly communicated, resourced, and executed across the organization. 
  • Serve as the CEO’s strategic thought partner and advise courses of action on critical matters, using a data-driven approach. 
• Leadership Rhythm & Governance 
  • Oversee decision-making cycles across the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Board: 
    • Design agendas 
    • Synthesize insights 
    • Prepare materials 
    • Ensure follow-through 
• Interface Management 
  • Manage the flow of information between the CEO and senior leaders, ensuring clarity, alignment, and productive collaboration. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner behind major organizational decisions and conversations. 
• Support on Strategic Initiatives (examples, responsibilities can shift depending on organizational needs and priorities) 
  • AI Integration & Digital Transformation 
    • Support the design, piloting, and scaling of AI tools that enhance decision-making, team productivity, and service delivery. 
    • Drive organizational AI adoption, capability-building, and change management. 
    • Translate emerging AI opportunities into practical workflows, operating model shifts, and strategic advantages. 
  • Internal Operating Model Evolution 
    • Support the integration of AI across our operational systems, piloting and scaling tools that boost productivity and decision-making. 
    • Drive process redesign across people systems, workflows, governance rhythms, and collaboration structures. 
  • Change Management Leadership & Transformation  
    • Drive end-to-end change processes: diagnosing issues, designing solutions, preparing teams, ensuring adoption, and measuring results. 
    • Act as the integrator across teams, ensuring transformation efforts are coherent, sequenced, and embedded in practice. 
  • Impact strategy & measurement  
    • Support the impact team with the development of Instiglio’s Impact Strategy  
    • Support the development of a comprehensive Impact Measurement & Monitoring framework  
• Roll-Up-Your-Sleeves Execution 
  • This is not a strategy-only role. You will personally: Build tools, draft frameworks, run project management, facilitate alignment, troubleshoot operational fires, ensure implementation sticks 
  • You are responsible for seeing things through from idea to execution to sustained adoption.

Who You Are 

• Experience 
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience in:  
    • Business & Management consulting, or similar roles; 
    • Stakeholder management, with senior executives on strategy and execution; 
    • Exposure to organizational transformation & change management, and/or systems-building in high-growth or complex environments, and/or designing and scaling operating models, decision systems, and workflows. 
  • Additional bonus if you have experience in:  
    • AI or technology implementation in organizations 
    • Public sector reform, or international development
