Workday Certified Core HCM AMS Architect

The Core HCM AMS Architect is a strategic, client-facing role responsible for providing functional expertise, solution leadership, and advisory support across Workday Core HCM within an AMS (Application Management Services) environment. This role partners closely with clients and internal delivery teams to ensure ongoing optimization, stability, and value realization of the Workday platform post-go-live. The Architect acts as a trusted advisor, guiding clients on enhancements, releases, roadmap strategy, and complex functional solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional lead and escalation point for Core HCM and other HCM modules as applicable, within AMS engagements, providing guidance on complex configuration, design, and issue resolution
  • Lead client discovery sessions to understand business requirements, identify optimization opportunities, and define solution approach
  • Deliver Intecrowd’s Review & Recommend offering for clients, and teaching/coaching other consultants to successfully deliver them 
  • Architect and recommend scalable Core HCM solutions, ensuring alignment with Workday best practices and client business strategy
  • Provide oversight and quality assurance for enhancements, tickets, and AMS delivery workstreams
  • Support ongoing Workday releases, including impact analysis custom to each client, feature adoption recommendations, and client readiness planning
  • Partner with AMS consultants and delivery teams to ensure accurate solution design, configuration, and testing support
  • Guide clients on roadmap planning, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support root cause analysis and resolution of complex functional issues
  • Ensure smooth knowledge transfer between advisory, AMS delivery teams, and client stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver Intecrowd’s Crash Course offerings, led and supported by an instructional designer
  • Contribute to internal best practices, reusable assets, and AMS delivery standards
  • Collaborate with other architects to support cross-functional HCM initiatives and integrated solutions

  • Working knowledge of additional HCM modules such as:
    • Recruiting
    • Compensation
    • Benefits
    • Absence
    • Talent & Performance
  • Strong understanding of Workday configuration, tenant management, and post-production optimization

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Workday Partner Certification in Core HCM (or related HCM certification)
  • Multiple end-to-end Workday implementations or post-production AMS engagements
  • Experience working in an AMS, managed services, or support-based environment
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into scalable Workday solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with experience engaging functional and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced client-facing environment
  • Strong presentation, consulting, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience as a Lead Consultant, Functional Architect, or AMS SME preferred
  • Up to 10–20% travel, depending on client needs, workshops, and strategic sessions
