Lab Manager

Our close-knit, medium-sized company is composed of smart, curious, diverse scientists who take an active interest in the scientific and technical development of our team members. We are seeking a skilled and organized Laboratory Manager to oversee our cell and molecular biology research and production facility. This role focuses on operational oversight and team management to ensure efficient laboratory operations and support of scientific teams.

 What you will do as Laboratory Manager

• Oversee and coordinate the laboratory’s daily operations, including:
• Supervising laboratory startup procedures and monitoring protocols
• Managing the preparation schedule for media, reagents, and materials
• Overseeing inventory management and supply ordering systems
• Coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration schedules
• Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures for laboratory support functions
• Ensure efficient coordination between lab management personnel and scientific teams
• Monitor compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate and optimize laboratory support processes
• Manage vendor relationships and service contracts

 The successful candidate will have

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in a molecular/cellular biology laboratory
• Experience supporting laboratory operations
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities

 Other qualifications that would be helpful but are not necessary

• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements
• Experience with vendor negotiations and purchasing
• Prior supervisory experience managing laboratory support staff
• Experience in laboratory operations optimization
• Background in quality management systems
