What’s the Opportunity?

We’re seeking a Senior SEO Manager to join our Performance Marketing organization and play a pivotal role in accelerating Intercom’s growth. As the owner of the SEO function, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution of our global SEO efforts—directly impacting lead generation for our sales teams and driving sign-ups through our self-serve funnel. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a key function at the intersection of engineering, marketing, and revenue in a company that's scaling rapidly and leading innovation in AI-powered customer service.

In this role, you’ll bring a strategic, data-driven approach to scaling SEO as a growth lever while ensuring operational excellence and strong cross-functional alignment. You’ll have the autonomy to define our roadmap, lead execution, KPIs and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business to influence content, campaigns, and technical infrastructure.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior marketing leader with deep SEO expertise, a proven track record in B2B growth, and a strong sense of ownership. You’re entrepreneurial, collaborative, and results-focused— a proven track record at a strategic and tactical level to drive measurable business outcomes.

What Will I Be Doing?

  • Define and lead Intercom’s global SEO strategy, aligning it with company-wide growth and revenue goals.
  • Develop systems for programmatic SEO and AI-assisted content generation using tools like ChatGPT and other large language models.
  • Establish and manage a repeatable process for keyword research, content optimization, and SEO prioritization.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of reporting frameworks that track SEO performance, site health, and business impact.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product marketing, content, manage external partners, web development, and demand generation teams to deliver cohesive and impactful initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve technical SEO challenges by partnering with web and engineering teams.
  • Stay on the forefront of emerging search trends including AI-powered search engines (e.g., Google SGE, ChatGPT, Anthropic, ect) and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Translate complex analytics into clear insights and actionable strategies to influence senior leadership.
  • Ensure SEO is tightly integrated with paid search, content marketing, and broader digital strategies.

What Skills Do I Need?

  • 7+ years of experience in SEO, growth marketing, or content strategy—preferably in a B2B SaaS environment—with a clear record of driving measurable results.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with experience aligning cross-functional teams and influencing senior executives.
  • Deep expertise in SEO tools and methodologies (e.g., Google Search Console, SEMrush, AHREFS, Screaming Frog, Brightedge, MOZ).
  • Proven ability to design and scale SEO programs from the ground up, migrating to new domains, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Tableau, Adobe Analytics, etc.) to derive insights and guide decision-making.
  • Understanding of how SEO integrates with paid marketing and overall demand generation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate SEO value in business terms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Understanding of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper, Copy.ai) for the purposes of influencing AI SEO.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
