Position Overview

Interdependence is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Vice President, Reputation and Crisis Management to lead and expand our reputation and crisis management practice. This role requires a proven leader with deep expertise in corporate communications, crisis preparedness, and high-stakes reputation management. The SVP will play a pivotal role in business development, driving growth by securing new clients, expanding existing relationships, and positioning Interdependence as a leader in reputation and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

  • Lead business development efforts to grow the reputation and crisis management practice, securing new clients and expanding relationships with existing ones.
  • Develop and deliver compelling proposals, pitch presentations, and strategic recommendations that showcase Interdependence's expertise.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in the marketplace, leveraging industry trends, media landscapes, and evolving business needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute growth strategies for the practice.

Reputation and Crisis Management Leadership:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, guiding them through complex reputation challenges and high-stakes crisis situations.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive reputation management strategies that align with clients' business objectives.
  • Provide real-time counsel and crisis response, including media relations, stakeholder communications, and risk mitigation planning.
  • Establish and maintain crisis preparedness programs, including scenario planning, messaging frameworks, and media training.

Client & Team Management:

  • Oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service and measurable results.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team of reputation and crisis management specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate crisis and reputation management strategies into broader communications initiatives.

Media & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts, journalists, and industry influencers.
  • Lead media engagement efforts, securing high-impact coverage and managing press inquiries during crises.
  • Provide strategic guidance on stakeholder communications, including employees, investors, regulators, and the public.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Track and analyze campaign performance, providing clients with data-driven insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Continuously refine strategies based on industry best practices, emerging risks, and evolving communication trends.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in reputation management, crisis communications, or corporate affairs, with a strong agency background preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in senior leadership roles, with experience managing teams and driving business growth.
  • Business Development: Demonstrated success in securing new business, growing client accounts, and delivering revenue-generating strategies.
  • Media & Crisis Expertise: Deep understanding of crisis communications, risk management, and media relations, with experience handling high-profile corporate crises.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute innovative reputation and crisis management strategies that drive measurable impact.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and persuasive messaging.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of B2B, corporate, and financial communications, with an understanding of regulatory and reputational risks across industries.
