About the role:
We are looking for highly skilled Data Annotators to support the development of advanced AI tools for grammar correction and proofreading. This project focuses on enhancing communication for non-native English speakers by creating a rich and diverse dataset of written English texts, annotated and corrected by humans.
Responsibilities:
- Review and correct short English texts written by non-native speakers.
- Identify and correct various types of errors:
- Spelling, Grammar, Prepositions, Capitalization, Punctuation, Missing Words.
- Classify each correction based on error type.
- Provide detailed grammatical explanations for complex errors (e.g., dangling modifiers, pronoun case, subject-verb agreement).
- Ensure meaning is preserved while improving grammar and fluency.
- Follow strict correction formatting requirements (e.g., offset-based annotation for plugin compatibility).
Qualifications:
- Native-level English fluency is mandatory. (Certifications such as IELTS (preferably the Academic or post-graduate version), TOEFL, or Cambridge English qualifications are an added advantage).
- Strong grasp of English grammar, syntax, and formal writing standards.
- Previous experience in editing, proofreading, or linguistic annotation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with annotation tools or structured formats is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and capable of providing high-accuracy corrections.
- Strong computer literacy and fast, accurate typing skills are essential for navigating annotation tools and maintaining efficiency in text-based tasks.
