Talent Acquisition Lead - Retail

The Talent Acquisition Lead – Retail plays an essential role in growing talent in our business through leading the overall recruitment aspects of the Lush employee life cycle for our Retail business. 

As Talent Acquisition Lead, you will directly coach and develop the Retail Talent Acquisition team. With the support of the Corporate and Retail TA Manager, you will build and roll out effective talent attraction programs that support the rapid growth across our business. You’ll play an integral part in the development of our Retail Talent Attraction strategy and ensuring a highly efficient and amazing candidate experience and ensuring it’s alignment with the overall business TA strategy. You’ll work closely with the Retail business leaders to support the overall Retail people strategy and existing programs along with playing a key role in diversifying, advancing, and elevating our talent pool.

Core RESPONSIBILITIES include: 

Recruitment Leadership

  • Responsible for overseeing all recruitment activities for Lush’s Retail stream
  • Develop and coach the retail talent acquisition team to ensure they are not only effective in their role but are also developing and growing our overall recruitment practices
  • With direct support from the TA Manager, help design and roll out all sourcing, attraction and recruitment programs across the business, with a primary focus on Retail
  • Oversee all recruitment reporting for the retail business, ensuring that it feeds into the overall reporting process for talent acquisition
  • Uphold a truly DEIB-focused talent attraction strategy 
  • Support the retail growth through developing a robust hiring strategy that directly impacts the overall business strategy 
  • Support in the advancement of all parts of recruitment life cycle: attraction, sourcing, screening, offer, onboarding for the retail business which in turn positively impacts broader people metrics including retention, development, succession etc. 
  • Be a trusted strategic partner by building relationships with Retail leadership and hiring teams by presenting sourcing insights to ensure a smooth recruitment process and hiring success 
  • Partner with the TA manager to propose all recruitment-focused annual budgeting
  • Oversee the annual retail seasonal hiring program including resourcing, training, SME alignment
  • Responsible for driving a culture of recruitment with the wider retail team including training on recruitment best practices, community partnerships and networking

Talent Attraction 

  • Support the TA manager to make recommendations and for recruitment platform technology usage, being a key player in the testing phase for the retail business 
  • Plan an annual Retail talent attraction calendar of events – hiring fairs, advertising campaigns, targeted events, community partnerships, pop-ups events specific to the Retail business
  • Partner with Retail P&C team to effectively engrain training practices and resources for hiring teams on recruitment, networking and being a Lush brand ambassador  

 

The following QUALIFICATIONS are required: 

Required: 

  • Proven experience in a high-volume recruitment team in a retail environment 
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in a full-cycle retail recruitment function
  • 1-2 years people leadership experience, with proven success in supporting other’s development
  • Proven project management and program implementation experience
  • Demonstrated success in traditional sourcing techniques utilized for sourcing top talent 
  • Track record of successfully delivering against assigned goals within a given deadline and executing in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and lead a team to source for a variety of positions at a time  
  • Versed in using a variety of sourcing strategies 
  • Outstanding networking skills with ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships with external and internal groups 
  • Experience leading the recruitment process/team for a variety of streams including hourly, salary and leadership across Canada & US. 
  • Proven ability to be curious about opportunities and have an in-depth understanding of team structures and role impact 
  • Proven experience partnering with the wider operations teams on areas of people planning, process improvement, talent mapping, technology implementation and roll-out etc. 
  • Experience with utilizing performance management tools 
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Greenhouse/SignNow/HR tech at an advanced level
  • Ability to understand and implement programs that have lasting, cross-functional impact, with regards to both P&C and overall business strategy
  • Experience leading company-wide programs on time, within budget and successfully
  • Ability to build, cultivate, and activate relationships with candidates 
  • Expert experience with ATS management
  • Trustworthy in dealing with sensitive information in a professional and HR-mindset  

Preferred: 

  • Experience partnering with wider P&C aspects of the employee life cycle including compensation, total rewards, training, employee relations, payroll and benefits. 
  • Budget management experience with specific relation to Recruitment (technology/headcount/program implementation)
  • Experience in HRIS systems and best practices 
  • Technology roadmap implementation experience
  • HR experience in a retail environment

Salary Range: Canada: ($85,500 - $90,900), US ($80,400 - $87,500). May vary depending on location.
