The Role: Manager-In-Training (MIT)
Reporting to the Room Manager, The Manager in Training is responsible to support, assist and execute the Vancouver Ballistics and Fresh teams in the planning and delivery of key manufacturing objectives and align strategic focuses within multiple production ranges. This may include planning and execution of; staffing needs, health and safety management staff talent mapping and development, engagement, continuous improvement projects and capacity planning.

The MIT undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you do (Responsibilities):
Unique Customer Experience:
- Be proactive communicating to customer service, supply chain operations and buying as it pertains to product launches, quality issues, production delays, fulfillment, raw materials and sundries
- Support the development of processes and communicate with forecasting support person on any concerns regarding sales, safety stocks and life cycles of new and existing products
Unique Staff Journey:
- Oversee Floor Supervisors to ensure staff are on-boarded and trained adequately
- Provide direction, support, feedback, development and performance management to all room staff
- Support the Manager to implement talent programs and ensure all roles are filled and development plans are executed
- Find solutions to staff conflict, provide feedback, coaching, and set expectations
- Assist in management of health and safety initiatives, claims management, and return-to-work
- Develop and promote a positive working culture that supports the Company’s philosophy of inclusion and is based on open and honest dialogue and involvement of all team members that values their input and engagement in improving performance.
Operational Excellence:
- Assist in planning, implementation, execution and tracking of all short and long term projects
- Support 4-month planning project creation, presentation and implementations within the room
- Help to oversee KPIs and have a clear understanding of production capabilities while taking volume and space into consideration through capacity modeling
- Oversee room reports and ensure they are completed
- Knowledgeable of all costs and revenue generated through the room
Who you are (Qualifications):
Required:
- Currently an MIT (seasonal or core), as well as have experience in production planning, inventory control or equivalent external manufacturing and/or supply chain operations management experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ progressive leadership and people management experience
- Demonstrated leadership in safety, and ownership of quality
- Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high-pressure production environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Able to train, coach and provide feedback for staff performance development
- Demonstrated success achieving KPIs
- Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual and dependable
Preferred:
- Cross-functional manufacturing and/or supply chain operations experience
- Understanding of all processes and legislation required to ensure safe working practices
- Advance level understanding of ERP, production planning processes and software programs
