The Role: Seasonal Custodian
Reporting to the Custodial Supervisor, the custodian undertakes the following RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining a clean welcoming work environment of all common areas for all staff to enjoy.
- Complete & sign off on daily logs to show completion of tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas
- Empty bins when needed and replace bin bags
- Monitor and coordinate waste - using correct recycling processes
- Supporting peers with daily duties and responsibilities while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
- Practice safe work and identify any unsafe situations that may arise to the appropriate individuals. Report any damages or equipment breakdowns to the Custodian Manager
- Fluid and flexible to continuous improvement changes within the room/department
- Adhere to company and departmental policies and best practices for quality, cleanliness and health and safety
- Carry out general housekeeping and equipment cleaning duties as required
- Encourage and maintain a positive, respectful, and engaging workplace
- Respect and promote inclusion and diversity in the workplace
- Making subtle improvements that help anticipate and minimize any issues that may arise.
- Assist with production assistant work in manufacturing rooms if cleaning work is complete*
Manufacturing-Specific Responsibilities (when not performing custodian duties)
- Assist in producing high quality Lush products
- Perform dexterous tasks including but not limited to: Filling, pouring, and pressing product accurately (either manually or with use of department-specific machinery)
- Pack product and correctly label packages
- Keep up with production demands and productivity targets
- Perform physically laborious tasks including but not limited to; loading/pulling skids, pushing racks, carrying bins of product
- Consistently meeting the hourly PPH (Pieces Per Hour) requirements specific to your department
You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Ability to work independently
- Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, be on your feet either standing or walking throughout the shift, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Capable of completing physical activities such as bending down, pulling, and pushing throughout the shift
- Ability to read, understand labels and instructions and practice safe use and application of cleaning chemicals and products
- Comfortable with providing and receiving coaching, training, and feedback as needed
Preferred:
- Comfortable navigating technology such as email, spreadsheets, and instant messaging programs
- Janitorial or housekeeping experience
- Experience using floor cleaning machines
- Experience using carpet cleaners and steamers
- Knowledge of/experience with ladder safety
- Valid drivers' license
- Shift work experience
- Able to work occasional holidays, weekends, and overtime, based on the needs of the business
