Job Title: HR Generalist
Term: Full-time, Indefinite (40 hours/week)
Department: Human Resources
Reports to: Director, Human Resources
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Expected Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually
The Human Resources Generalist is a key contributor to the day-to-day delivery of HR operations and employee experience across the organization. This role supports the full employee lifecycle with a strong emphasis on execution, coordination, and service delivery, ensuring that HR processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with organizational needs.
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Generalist partners closely with managers and employees to provide timely, practical HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS, KEY COMPETENCIES & APPLICATION PROCESS
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- CHRP designation (or in progress) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Ontario ESA, OHRC, AODA, OHSA, and HR best practices.
- Experience supporting core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and HR administration.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Proven ability to handle employee relations matters, including performance management and policy interpretation, with sound judgment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong judgment and discretion in managing sensitive matters.
- Proficiency in HRIS and ATS, MS Office Suite (e.g., Excel), and modern HR tools and platforms.
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to effectively engage and support stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in people practices.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.

This position is based in a hybrid work arrangement, with employees working on-site four (4) days per week and the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on business needs. Employees will be required to come on-site as needed and are expected to reside in Ontario and within a reasonable commuting distance of the office/campus.
