Geotab is seeking a Privacy Analyst Intern who will be responsible for supporting the various Privacy initiatives and projects within the department ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and standards. The Privacy Analyst Intern supports data and root cause analysis, understanding/revising processes to ensure compliance and supporting cross functional reporting requirements. This position supports a wide range of projects to deliver net new or augmented privacy deliverables to the business to ensure projects are successful. What you'll do:
As a Privacy Analyst Intern, your key area of responsibility will be contributing to the development and maintenance of our privacy program. You'll assist in managing and organizing data, conducting research on privacy laws, and supporting cross-functional projects.
The opportunity:
- 8 - 12 month work-term beginning January 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

How you'll make an impact:
- Collaborate with other Operational departments to develop/support processes related to the Privacy program, ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.
- Cross-functional coordination of operational reporting requirements related to privacy compliance (e.g., data subject access requests, privacy impact assessments).
- Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications, including records of processing activities, and reportable privacy incidents.
- Research and investigate information related to privacy laws, regulations and best practices to enable strategic decision-making by others.
- Arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities related to privacy initiatives and projects
- Provide support in the development of training material and awareness campaigns to educate employees on privacy policies and procedures.
- Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally to assist and enable organizational operations and effective service to connecting groups, while adhering to privacy principles and data protection obligations.
- Respond to inquiries for Privacy in a timely and professional manner.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Pursuing a Degree/Diploma in Social Science, Bachelor of Arts & Science, Criminology or a related field.
- Knowledge of Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA) and other relevant global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Understanding of privacy principles (e.g., data minimization, purpose limitation, accountability).
- Ability to analyze and respond to privacy risks.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve well-judged decisions.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
