Geotab is seeking a Procurement Intern who will help support the procurement team and will be responsible for coordinating wiki and tasks related to purchase order management along with collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

What you'll do:
As a Procurement Intern your key area of responsibility will be assisting on procurement related tasks and order management. This position will also handle working closely with the buyers for updating procurement wiki, workflow process and documents when needed. Additionally, this position will support buyers with purchase order management and analytical tasks as needed, utilize resource planning software tools, and ensure that purchase orders ETAs align with requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders, negotiation skills for participating in supplier discussions, problem-solving abilities for addressing discrepancies, time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adaptability and resilience to work under pressure, and relationship-building skills for fostering positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams. In addition, the successful candidate will have analytical skills for analyzing procurement data, knowledge of resource planning software tools like Microsoft Dynamics D365, attention to detail for ensuring accuracy in order details and records maintenance, understanding of procurement processes and industry trends, basic financial literacy for managing purchase orders and invoices, and familiarity with project management concepts for supporting special projects and initiatives.
The opportunity:
- 12 month work-term beginning May 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

How you'll make an impact:
- Assist with updating procurement wiki, SOPs for the team.
- Assists with tasks related with purchase orders, oversee the purchase order process, and ensure accuracy in order details through collaboration with suppliers
- Ensure the timely delivery of products and compliance with the business requirements, measure supplier performance and capacity to grow long term.
- Use resource planning software tools (e.g. D365) to manage and maintain accurate records of pricing, delivery schedules, and purchase orders (processing/inventory).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and to help track stock levels to ensure there are no excesses/shortages.
- Assist in maintaining vendor contact databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and records are accurate for SKU categories.
- Assist with supplier research and qualification process.
- Participate in supplier negotiations and contract discussions under the guidance of senior procurement team members.
- Assist in the identification of cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the procurement function.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the procurement team.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Currently enrolled in/recently completed a Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- Prior internship or work experience in procurement, supply chain or a related field is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of resource planning software (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics D365).
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Experience working within a technical or engineering organization/knowledge of the high-technology industry an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
