What you'll do:
As a Product Design Intern your key area of responsibility will be assisting with design, interaction and user experience efforts across Geotab’s applications. This will involve conducting desk research, participating in user testing and validation, creation of wireframes, mockups and generally covering the entire spectrum of the design process. You will need to work closely with a Lead Designer, product managers and developers. This is a great learning opportunity to get real world experience for building products with massive scale and impact.

The opportunity:
- 12 month work-term beginning May 2026.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

How you'll make an impact:
- Assist with a full spectrum of Product Design activities including, but not limited to, research, ideation, creation and validation of Geotab products.
- Partner with cross-functional members during design and development to understand requirements and user needs, refine broad concepts into customer solutions.
- Illustrate ideas using storyboards, process flows, and other information diagrams.
- Design flows and experiences that simplify and distill down complex actions into usable interfaces
- Develop deep insights about user behavior.
- Collect feedback from end users and subject matter experts, synthesizing findings into consumable formats for other team members.
- Use Design Principles and Design Systems to produce visually cohesive, simple and consistent designs.
- Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with AODA guidelines for accessibility, regularly test designs for pleasantly usable experiences for a diverse set of customer needs and capabilities.
- Ensure designs work in different browsers and devices.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Completing a Degree or Diploma in UX Product, Interaction Design, User experience, Product design, Industrial design, Graphic design, HCI, or similar.
- Proficient in product design software such as: Figma, Figjam, Lucidchart, usertesting.com
- Understanding and working knowledge of design principles and visual dynamics.
- Understanding and working knowledge of behavioral sciences, research methods and data analysis.
- Demonstrate an ability to apply design principles to real-world projects and problems.
- A portfolio showcasing previous product design projects, including school assignments, personal projects or freelance work.
How we work:
This role offers an hourly pay range which is anticipated to be the range listed below. The actual pay for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to student's academic program, relevant experience, and location. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work for the duration of the internship and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
