What you'll do:
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineering Intern, your key area of responsibility will be all aspects of quality documentation and activities throughout the product life cycle; including supplier development and approval, new product introduction and production advanced quality, process development for current and new production, and customer quality. Emphasis is placed on documentation and standardization of current and future processes with focus on growth and scalability. This position uses the understanding of electronics mechanics and harness assemblies to provide expertise in new and current designs to ensure manufacturability.

How you'll make an impact:
- Develop and maintain quality documentation for internal quality processes such as production work procedures.
- Complete special assignments to support the effectiveness and scalability of the Quality and Production team such as new tool validations and repeatability studies.
- Provide support to production operations to maintain the integrity of components and products through first off sign-offs and incoming inspections.
- Assist with the design, development, and launch of new products and services.
- Improve quality and processes using big data models related to manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Review supplier RMA, NCR requests to resolve supplier issues by working directly with suppliers to identify issues, communicate findings, and implement corrective actions/preventive measures.
- Collaborate with the Failure Analysis team to Investigate production failures to report findings to the Quality team for process improvements.
- Review Engineering drawings, PFMEAs and provide feedback on DFM, DFA, DFT and continuous improvements.
- Oversee Engineering, prototype, and beta builds and develop best practices for DFM.
- Report on internal and external quality data through Google Sheets, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders such as the Failure Analysis Team.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Currently enrolled in a Post secondary program in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related program.
- Advanced Excel skills and statistical analysis.
- Understanding of technical specification documents, drawings, and tolerances.
- High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- A strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
How we work:
This role offers an hourly pay range which is anticipated to be the range listed below. The actual pay for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to student's academic program, relevant experience, and location. Geotab is committed to fair and equitable compensation and will share final details as part of the offer process. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work for the duration of the internship and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
Hourly Rate
$22 - $36 CAD
