Product Management Intern, Installation Experience (Winter/January 2027, 8 - 12 Months)
Who we are:
Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Product Management Intern who will drive installer insights, conduct user research, support product collaboration, and help shape the tools that installers around the world rely on. If you love technology, and are keen to join an industry leader - we would love to hear from you!
What you'll do:
As a Product Management Intern, Installation Experience your key area of responsibility will be delivering installer insights and analytics, conducting installer research and persona development, and supporting product collaboration and testing. You will need to work closely with the Installation team, cross-functional product and engineering stakeholders, and installers directly.
The opportunity:
- 8 - 12 month work-term beginning January 2027.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.
- Your first week at Geotab begins with 'GEO Launch' - a one-week Employee Orientation. Click here to learn more!

How you'll make an impact:
Installer Insights & Analytics:
- Build and maintain the Installation Experience dashboard, turning raw data into clear, actionable signals about installer behavior, tool adoption, installation quality, and support ticket trends
- Use data to identify friction points across the installation journey: where installers get stuck, where quality drops, and where adoption lags
- Define and track key metrics including installation volume trends, quality scores, tool usage, and the rollout of a new mandatory device verification and activation framework being introduced this year
- Go beyond the numbers. Combine quantitative data with qualitative research to build a complete picture of the installer experience
- Leverage AI tools and automation (including vibe coding and AI-assisted analysis) to accelerate data work and prototype solutions faster
Installer Research & Persona Development:
- Conduct direct outreach and interviews with installers to understand their workflows, pain points, and needs
- Use AI tools to synthesize interview notes, cluster feedback themes, and accelerate research turnaround
- Develop refined installer personas that reflect real-world behavior, keeping them alive as the team's working reference, not a one-time document
- Identify gaps between how we think installers experience our tools and how they actually do
Product Collaboration & Testing:
- Prepare research summaries, data inputs, and written briefs that feed roadmap discussions, connecting your findings to decisions
- Draft user stories and requirements for the product team to review and refine, learning how to write for engineering along the way
- Participate in backlog grooming and sprint reviews to build familiarity with the full product development cycle
- Support User Acceptance Testing for new features. Define test cases, coordinate with installers or internal testers, and document outcomes
- Use AI tools to generate test cases, identify coverage gaps, and accelerate the testing cycle
What you'll bring to the role:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Product Management, UX Design or a related field
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with data and drawing conclusions, not just reporting numbers (SQL is a plus)
- Strong written communication — able to turn complex findings into something a cross-functional team can act on
- Genuine curiosity about how things work, both digitally and physically. You think in systems
- Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate your work. You experiment, automate, and build faster because of it
- Experience or interest in hardware-software integrated products, whether through coursework, engineering clubs, hackathons, robotics teams, or personal projects
- Able to own your work and drive it forward independently
Nice to Have:
- Experience conducting user interviews or customer research
- Familiarity with data visualization or analytics tools (Superset, Pendo, Google Analytics, or similar)
- Background in or exposure to IoT, telematics, automotive, or fleet technology
- Prior internship or project work in product management, data analytics, or solutions engineering
- Experience writing or reviewing test cases, UAT plans, or QA documentation
