Phlebotomist/Processor in Boise, Idaho!
As Interpath Laboratory steadily grows, we are continually looking for dedicated Phlebotomist/Processor candidates to join our team. Ideal candidates will possess excellent people skills, a collaborative spirit, and thrive in a busy setting, supporting both our patients and team goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, answer phones, and monitor instrumentation alarms.
- Perform venipuncture for blood collection and obtain additional specimen types as required.
- Prepare all samples for lab testing and screening to maintain specimen integrity.
- Verify specimen information, perform data entry, and properly identify patient information.
- Receive, process, and package samples for referral labs while ensuring compliance with safety protocols, HIPAA policies, and Medicare rules.
- Cover work shifts at different sites as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of on-the-job phlebotomy experience.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a laboratory setting with automated equipment emitting ambient sounds.
- Ability to hear alarms and respond timely to safety needs.
- Regular handling of potentially infectious samples with necessary protective gear.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, and walk on uneven surfaces throughout the day.
- Frequent bending, extended standing, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime as needed.
- OSHA Category: Exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues; Hepatitis-B vaccination offered.
