Civil/Landscape Design Intern

PAY RANGE: $18.00-$20.00/hour, based upon experience 

THE COMPANY: Intrinsic Development is a full service real estate development company that specializes in upscale multi-family and commercial mixed-use developments. Our organization has built more than 3.5 million square feet of projects, with an additional 300,000 square feet currently under construction. The Intrinsic Development team has successfully developed everything from hospitality venues, to mixed-use, multi-family, hotels, clinics, offices and restaurants across 6 Midwestern states. We are excited to expand into Lee's Summit, Missouri which will be the new home for our corporate office. This expansion coincides with the launch of our new 260+ acre mixed-use development, which will feature approximately 2,900 luxury multi-family units, as well as over 660,000 square feet of retail, office, entertainment, hospitality space, and other related commercial uses

CIVIL/LANDSCAPE DESIGN INTERN POSITION; We are seeking a creative, passionate and energetic intern who is interested in gaining experience within the Civil/Landscape Design field. This position will assist in providing site analysis, zoning/code research, concept planning/site planning, illustrative graphic exhibits, and presentations for a variety of projects including mixed-use, multifamily/residential, and commercial, with various amenities and other recreational project components.

CIVIL/LANDSCAPE DESIGN INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide site analysis and research including code requirements.
• Prepare conceptual designs, site layouts and parking studies.
• Prepare development plans to support rezonings and/or entitlements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of projects developing detailed designs for construction.
• Assist with specification writing, permitting and construction administration.  

CIVIL/LANDSCAPE DESIGN INTERN QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required: Currently a student majoring in drafting, civil engineering, landscape design or related field.
• Required: Experience with Lumion, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Land FX, Adobe Creative Suites (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Sketchup), GIS/ArcView, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Strong freehand illustration and rendering skills.
• Knowledge of grading, drainage, plant material and planting design.
• Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
• Creative design skills for complex project solutions.
• Self-motivated, deadline driven and highly organized.  
• Flexible and adaptable to changing situations
• Effective listener with ability to understand needs of team members at all levels.
• Interact effectively with project team, client and reviewing authorities.
