Role

As a Product Manager focused on Robotics Capabilities, you will be at the forefront of developing features for the robot itself—the core of the Intrinsic platform. Your work will help build the critical bridge between virtual software systems and real-world physical manipulation.

How your work moves the mission forward

  • Robot Capability Vision & Roadmap: Translate the overall industrial robotics product vision into specific robot movement and interaction capabilities.
  • Scalable Automation Solutions: Identify how advanced motion and grasping capabilities on the Intrinsic platform can address partner automation challenges.
  • Collision-Free Motion Planning: Define requirements for executable and efficient robot paths in complex workcell environments.
  • Process Path Planning: Specify robot movements and action sequences for task execution in collaboration with partners.
  • Object Interaction & Manipulation: Define requirements for object identification, approach, and grasping—working closely with the Grasp Planning team.
  • Customer Advocacy: Champion partner-driven requirements within product and engineering teams to address real-world automation needs.

 

Skills you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field.
  • Proven experience designing, building, or delivering industrial robotic automation solutions.
  • Demonstrated success defining product vision, roadmaps, and translating customer needs into technical requirements.
  • Proven ability to work closely with specialized engineering teams (e.g., real-time control, motion planning).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to articulate vision and explain complex solutions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex automation challenges and drive effective solutions.

 

Skills that will differentiate your candidacy

  • Industrial Robotics & Manufacturing Expertise: Deep understanding of production processes and automation systems.
  • Robot Capability Definition: Experience defining features related to collision-free motion, process path planning, and object manipulation.
  • Technical Fluency in Robotics: Familiarity with motion planning, sensor-based control, and robotic grasping.
  • Platform Thinking: Ability to design reusable, scalable automation solutions that leverage a shared platform.
  • Partner & Customer Engagement: Skilled in working with external stakeholders to uncover pain points and co-develop robotic solutions.

In addition to the salary range below, this full-time position is eligible for bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range + bonus + equity for your targeted location and role during the hiring process.

SF Bay Area Range

$208,000 - $221,000 USD
