We are looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Federal to help drive product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for IonQ’s growing federal business. In this highly cross-functional role, you will help translate IonQ’s quantum technologies into mission-relevant outcomes supporting mission-relevant outcomes for U.S. government and public sector agencies.
You will help bring clarity to a rapidly evolving market by translating complex quantum innovation into clear narratives aligned to national security priorities and federal missions. In this role, you will partner closely with product, engineering, federal sales, and communications teams to create messaging, thought leadership, and sales enablement that supports pipeline growth, capture efforts, and program wins.
Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve federal positioning and messaging for IonQ’s quantum technologies across key government segments.
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear value propositions aligned to federal mission priorities such as national security, secure communications, logistics optimization, scientific discovery, and navigation/timing resilience.
- Support messaging across IonQ’s quantum portfolio including Quantum Computing, Quantum Networking, Quantum Sensing & Timing, and Quantum Security / Post-Quantum Readiness.
- Develop sales enablement and capture support materials, including solution briefs, proposal messaging, presentations, and competitive battlecards.
- Partner with Federal Sales, Product, and Communications teams to support product launches, technology milestones, demonstrations, and ecosystem announcements.
- Support account-based marketing and federal go-to-market campaigns with product-focused messaging and content.
- Create and manage federal-focused content including technical explainers, solution briefs, thought leadership, and sales enablement assets.
- Support IonQ’s presence at federal industry events and technical conferences through messaging and content development.
You’d be a good fit with:
- 5+ years experience in product marketing or technical marketing, in a technology field (quantum, AI, cloud, cybersecurity, HPC, or defense technology).
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear messaging and content.
- Experience developing product marketing frameworks and sales enablement materials.
- Strong writing skills across web, sales collateral, and presentation formats.
- Understanding of go-to-market strategies and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Highly collaborative approach with product, sales, and executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
You’d be a great fit with:
- Experience supporting federal government or public sector markets.
- Familiarity with defense, intelligence, or federal technology ecosystems.
- Knowledge of quantum computing, advanced computing, or deep-tech industries.
- Experience working with system integrators or defense technology partners.
- Experience managing external vendors or agency partners.
- Experience operating in early-stage or rapidly scaling technology companies.
Location: This position can be remote or hybrid from our office in Bothell, WA or College Park, MD.
Travel: Travel requirements of up to 4-6 times yearly for internal and external events.

The approximate base salary range for this position is $97,123 - $126,652. The total compensation package includes base, bonus, and equity.
Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
